Inhabit is a simple little puzzle game with a wholesome premise. Featuring different variations of Sokoban-style puzzles and a few hours of gameplay, it is certainly worth the small $AU4.50 asking price. Pros

Challenging puzzles with simple controls
Different variations of puzzles & new characters to meet
Wholesome premise, very positive and rewarding for doing simple household tasks
Cute & nostalgic pixel art
Cons

No hint option
Not much to do in the outside world

Gameplay
After waking up to a dark and dreary house, you are greeted with bags of rubbish everywhere and an abundance of chores to do. Whilst it is not directly referenced, the game targets those with depression, or those who struggle to complete daily tasks and chores. Inhabit makes this a positive and rewarding experience, with very jolly characters cheering you on after every plant you water, window you open, or trash you vacuum. These different “chores” are made into different Sokoban puzzles. Surprisingly, well, at least for me… these were challenging! I felt a sense of achievement after clearing each level and although it took me around three hours (the developers suggested it takes 1-2).. I still felt accomplished. Each different area changes the formula slightly to keep things fresh. Whilst the core mechanic is still push x thing around, make sure you have enough space and do not get blocked into a wall, there are some slight variations. For instance, move mirrors around to alter the ray to illuminate all household objects, cross the road safely and avoid pedestrians that move in a pre-set pattern everytime the character moves, or zoom around with your vacuum, sucking up rubbish, but be careful as you can only switch direction once you hit something. There is a small amount of dialogue to read between each puzzle which portrays each of the characters personalities. Cleanaholic, gym/fitness junkie, gardener etc. None of which are judgemental or condescending in any way, but they act as a motivator and help guide players to a better lifestyle. I thought this would not be a game for me, given the simple premise, but sure enough, I became addicted and was determined to get through all the puzzles.
Visuals & Sound
Inhabit has cute pixel art and large text, making it a delightful casual game to play. The character is also customisable. Given the pixel art, it is not detailed, and the protagonist has no facial features at all, however the pop up characters are adorable and anime-styled drawings that take up a quarter of the screen. You can also pet a dog! The sound is also stereotypically cutesy and if you have played any similar retro game, you will have heard the type of tune it plays. Not necessarily a bad thing though, it matches the game well. Bugs & Issues: None Playtime: Took me a slightly embarrassing 3.5 hours, but developers suggested 1-2 hours. Depends on your Sokoban puzzle skills. Controller Recommended? No, only the arrow keys are used and sometimes Z/R Replayability value: No
Conclusion
A short and sweet Sokoban-style puzzle game. Featuring a wholesome, encouraging and positive premise, helping those who struggle with what others see as simple tasks, such as household chores. Whilst it only takes a few hours, I greatly enjoyed my time and felt compelled to finish the game completely. I found it more challenging than I had expected, but it was nothing impossible. A great game to relax to after a days work, or if you have a spare few hours. Maybe after, you will even feel motivated to get some of those pesky jobs done around the house that you have been putting off! All in all, a fun and affordable puzzler, and one I recommend to fans of the genre. As we all know, a man will not do anything at all in his life unless there's a (chance of a) cute girl as a reward, so here is a game about five a little too bubbly waifus motivating you to do basic care tasks such as housekeeping and exercise. In the form of a five varied sets of puzzles. What else could you want? Ridiculous concept aside, it's actually pretty fun. The girls talk a little too much, but maybe that's just my personal taste; I sure like their designs, and they don't feel like your copy-and-paste anime archetypes, either (okay, maybe a little). It doesn't feel like you build any rapport with them though, and that's a bit of a shame. That said, the puzzles were pleasant - nothing groundbreaking, but not bad either - and, perhaps most importantly, the game actually motivated me to take a self-care day and clean up a little, and I feel fantastic. So hey, mission accomplished. Curator page
If you're on the fence about purchasing this game, it's definitely worth your time and money. Inhabit is a fantastic little game that scratches that itch perfectly. The puzzles find the right balance between being difficult enough to pose a challenge but at a rate of progression where you aren't left pulling your hair out. The music sets a cosy atmosphere and the art style provides a comforting aesthetic.
A really wholesome puzzle game, that's still very challenging. Accompanied with beautiful pixel art style and chippy tunes! The puzzle started quite simple, but then as you progress, so does the complexity of the puzzle. I really love the puzzles, some of it reminded me of the "classic" pokemon puzzles, specifically the pokemon gym puzzles. Solving them is challenging, but very satisfying once you figure it out. For what it's worth, I highly recommend this one for a quick brain exercise.
This game is adorable. It's also very wholesome and actually helps with healthy habits. Puzzles can be surprisingly challenging at times even in its short playtime. Definitely worth the 3 dollars. 10/10
Ever needed an excuse to get out of bed and get rid of that weird smell in your room, or at least open the curtain? Inhabit has the answer. In this game, you get introduced to 5 different characters, each with their own amusing personality, all of whom have their own mini-games doing seemingly tedious tasks that get progressively harder. Even so, chores like dusting around the house, moving furniture around or cleaning the window are important things to do to encourage self-care and self-maintenance to improve your living status to escape from your slumber. Eventually, they may become a fun activity for you to do without being asked to do. Each character highlights this as well, as it is ok to have some down days (I'm sure everyone can relate) just as long as you get yourself back up and do whatever you can to manage your well-being. All of these characters offer a sense of optimism, which is something I really appreciate, to try to do some activity and go out, even if you're just going to the post office and back, as long as it is something you don't usually do that you can make a habit (see what I did there). I'm sure plenty of people will love this game even if they are going through some tough time.
Short and sweet puzzle game with a cozy premise: your friends help you practice some self-care. I wish it was a bit longer and fleshed out, but it's worth it at the low price point. I'll definitely keep an eye for the studio's future games!
