I played this game as a nobrainer clicker to watch some youtube to and for this specific purpose it was okay I guess. Other than that the game is extremely basic with no handcrafted content. Available mechanics are: farming, fishing, crafting and foraging. They are implemented correctly although switching tools could be streamlined and not require dreaded radial menu and one more click to access it. You can farm and fish on your home island and the rest is accessed via travel to other islands. They are procedurally generated and boring. There is *nothing* to them except for fruit to pick and ores to mine. There are some grindy upgrades in the house requiring obscene amounts of resources for really basic machine that is no longer really needed that far in the game. Achievements are also purely grind related, like destroy x rocks, catch x fish, harvest x crops. All plays the same, no matter if you do it for the first time or for the 1000th time, there is no progression other than number of available gold go up. While i haven't encountered many bugs in game itself, there are some shady moves being made in achievements and DLCs department. Firstly, they are selling cometic DLC to the game that uses $4 asset pack but okay no one has to buy it, I get it. But then, a few months ago they added a few achievements that are unavailable in the base game. then they released paid DLC with presumably not procedural NPCs but now this DLC is unavailable and unobtainable achievements are still there. Overall this is a meh game without content. It got update with more content but it was paid and now it's not possible to get it. Strange things are happening here and the game can't defend itself with its content or mechanics. Buy smth else tbh.
A very basic asset flip farm sim. There's not much to do other than hit rocks, farm, chop trees and fish. You can craft and decorate too, but it's super basic, and a huge grind. There's tons of achievements that you cannot earn because the content isn't in the game. Not sure why achievements were implemented without the content but it sucks. The dev simply bought an asset pack and made a basic game to make some quick money. It's one of the worst cosy games I've ever played in just about every area: the gameplay, character depth, dialogue, and world building are just awful. Avoid this game at all costs. Update: a DLC was added in March 25, you can buy this to get the achievements, but I really wouldn't bother.
This game is cute and all, but that's all it has going for it. I was so damn bored, I just couldn't finish it. Felt like a chore. There is practically zero story. Nico, the protagonist, moves to the archipelago and wants to share a starfruit (or whatever) with everyone. That is literally it. There is no other motivation to play except milestone achievements. The gameplay is fine, I guess, so if you're someone who doesn't care about story at all, you could possibly still enjoy this game, but I just can't get through it, sorry.
way too grindy, little payout, not much to do. i think there are unlockable achievements at the moment too? until there is better/more content, can't recommend
you make iron ingots from stones on a wooden workbench with a hammer additionally, the menus are extremely tedious to navigate with a controller
Sprout Valley is a decent farm game with cute visuals, great music, okay mouse & keyboard controls, straightforward achievements, sweet dialogues and pretty good game progression in terms of unlocks/keeping things engaging. It’s very basic in the genre with lots of options missing or simplified and it’s precisely why I wanted to get into it. It’s perfect to play a little bit of everyday without feeling overwhelmed. I also love when farm games don’t have anything season bound, you can do/get whatever/whenever you want because there are no seasons to think about. But its simplicity goes too far, the game is basically all about grinding packaged in an attractive way. What’s problematic is the DLC having most of the NPC. This isn’t a simple extra, it’s a fundamental part of the game that gives it structure through the quest system. It gives you purpose to make things and have something to look forward to. Buying the DLC is a must imo, luckily it was cheap when I got it 75% off. The game also has some funny/weird bugs that are not game breaking. Sometimes my boat changes colour when I do something else or sometimes I speak with NPC when I’m nowhere near them. Lastly, a little bit of clarity of when things unlock (like vegetables) would have been welcome. The store stocks new items periodically, but I have no idea what the criteria is. You need specific things for certain quests sometimes, it would be great to speed up that process. Sprout Valley is not a game for hardcore farming fans due to its simplicity. I recommend the game to players who want something easier and quicker to get into, but make sure you get the NPC DLC as it will affect the enjoyment of the game without. The game’s normal price of around €15 is okay if you’re cool with mindless grind that’s structured neatly. If not then you’re going to think it’s a waste of time and money. Luckily it’s on sale often, I got the game for 90% off on Steam and I enjoyed my time with it. It took me less than 33 hours to complete the story and get all the achievements.
休闲和无聊是两回事,这游戏就是很无聊。。一点意思都没
sprout valley is a simple and cozy farming sim. the gameplay can feel repetitive at times, but it has a certain charm. the art style is cute, the npcs are 'meh' but at least interactable, and the mechanics are easy to understand and get used to. there are a few downsides. some quests require paid dlc to fully complete, specifically the “friends forever” dlc. since islands are randomized when traveling, it’s difficult to revisit friends and finish their quests without it. because of this, the main focus ends up being skill leveling. i’d recommend this game if you’re looking for something cute, cozy, and straightforward. i wouldn’t recommend it if you’re not a fan of repetitive or limited gameplay.
you can never get full steam achievements
