About

INFERNO PROTOCOL is a co-op survival horror set in a maze that does not stay still. There is no map you can trust. No corridor you can return to the way you came. You'll mark the walls, harvest the things that hunt you, and inject yourself with things that may save you or rewrite you. Solo or up to 6 players. Somewhere in here, there's a way out.

The maze does not stay still. The corridor you came from won't be the corridor you go back through.
Spray the walls. Drop chalk. Leave objects behind. Find old hand-drawn paper maps and figure out which ones are lying. A compass helps, until it doesn't. Remember: Memory is your map. Marks are your guide.

The maze keeps changing. Corridors give way to forests, deserts, frozen halls, places that shouldn't be underground.
Others walked here before you. Notes, scratched-out warnings, sketches on the walls, most of it panic, some of it useful. A few point to injectors. A few point to exits. A few point to things you shouldn't go near. Whoever left them isn't around to ask.

People live in here. Not many.
There's a settlement at the center where you can farm, build walls, and craft what you need. Outside it, smaller camps survive in the corridors. Some will talk, some will trade, some won't wait for you to draw first.
The rules of the maze cost more than ammo.

Resources are scarce. Scrap metal and frayed wires will only get you so far. When you take down a creature, harvest what remains, bones, armor, flesh, organs. It's grim work, and the maze doesn't care.

Find traps or craft your own. Plant them in the corridors, back off, and let the maze do the rest.

You will find injectors. The deeper you go, the more you'll need them. Some are labeled: dash, rage,
night vision, double jump, extra health. Others aren't labeled at all, and you'll use those too, sooner or later.

If you enjoy indie games, horror and the survival/crafting genre Inferno Protocol will likely be right up your alley. It's a small dev team, who is obviously very committed to the project and extremely receptive to feedback. You can tell this game is a true labor of love, the team is constantly updating and improving it. They seriously don't ever seem to sleep. I've been playing since the demo was first released and the amount of progress has been phenomenal. The basic premise is, you're a clone who pops out of an elevator in a forested area in the center of a giant labyrinth and placed there by the mysterious "Shepherds". While it's clearly a nod to the Maze Runner films in some ways, they've definitely struck out on their own path with the story. You can find DNA injectors to give yourself different abilities, like double jump or night vision. You can design and build your own base, scavenge and harvest resources, collect animal DNA to mix into new injectors, craft new weapons and armor. There's a lot to do! The gameplay loop of making expeditions into the labyrinth and coming out with a pack full of loot and new blueprints to craft is also extremely satisfying. In addition there are different biomes in the labyrinth, so the deeper you go the weirder things get. I'm astounded by how much content is in the release version compared to the demo. These guys have added an insane amount of content which was never unveiled until now. I find myself being constantly delighted when I stumble upon new areas of the labyrinth. Does the game have bugs? sure. It's a bit rough around the edges in some ways, but it's very charming and has a solid concept at its core. At this stage some bugs and fine-tuning is expected though and they are furiously pumping out updates. So in short, this game is a bargain. If you've got a spare ten bucks and some change and this sounds interesting to you I highly recommend giving Inferno Protocol your support!

MINHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!
4 hours and half the achievements and still at the start. 10/10
Enjoy the game so far, Guns seem to do less damage than its worth. Host just accidentally quit without saving after having been lost for 3 hours and making it back finally. Please add an autosave after each night or after everytime players sleep. Or at the very least add a damn reminder to save when you go to exit the game. Just lost the entire save. Manual save is not it...
Good game! Early access review so still getting polished up, but the core mechanics are fun and it's got more heart and character than most multiplayer games we've tried. A solid "friendslop"-adjacent game with a balanced thrill of horror, building a house, fighting over who gets to use the cloth pieces, and a big scary monster chasing you. :) Solid and fun and silly, everything a game should be. It's got some bugs at the time of this review but they honestly just made everything more whimsical. A+ for the booty cheek clipping out of the pants when you crouch. Looking forward to see how it grows. 2hrs logged at the time of review but had 6 hrs in the demo too which is a lot for us as people who work a lot. <3

TLDR: Game is really rough, looks bad, cool conecpt, may check out in the future if added way more polish, would not recommend in current state. I would not recommend this game in it's current state. It has a cool idea. But the UI looks like something from a game jam, the AI is not very smart, and the game is quite rough overall. I'm also not sure, but the art is weird in this game, it looks like it's a mix of bought assets, and things made by the dev, and they just don't look right together. All the humans look bad, and the animations are not good... there aren't even basic things like reloads or ADS animations. Also I'm not sure if it's a bug or intentional game design, but I couldn't even mind rocks, my pickaxe kept breaking and the guy at the start kept giving me more, but using 4 on the same rock with heavy and light attacks did nothing. This game could be good in the future and I know it's in early access, but other early access game like VEIN or other examples usually start with a bit more polish. May revisit it in the future, but for now would not recommend this game jam looking game.
