tl;dr: Get on sale, its fun and pretty, but extremely short and a decent experience. Minor annoyances. Good stuff: Its really smooth to play and feels fast and responsive. Looks good, It has great 16bit/32bit game system looking sprite work. I mainly like to explore so it was really nice that the skill to get every hidden room and notification for chests etc shown was optional. Very nice. Mid stuff: Sister mode, doesnt deliver anything really. The game is so linear and the sister is so overpowered i grew supremely bored of it. At least it allows you to play as a better designed character than the hooded Brother. Neg stuff. However, there is one big negative. The game is so short. So incredibly short which i didnt know. Its basically a sit down one session game. Over and done in an hour or two unless you decide to backtrack and look for stuff. Im really glad i got it on sale, i would have been incredibly disappointed if i had instead bought it at its base price. Minor negative is that gear and item upgrades are not placed well. You get so much stuff when you no longer need it. The only gear you need to care about is the sword really. The moment you can get the strong swords they all requires ALL movement upgrades theyre all obsolete besides the best one. I mean whats the point to gate em all behind the same movement upgrades? Weird. The map could be ways better. Your blinking dot on it is not where it should be depending on which room your in. Example: Youre at a door, check the map, youre blinking infront of the top door, you enter and its actually the middle door of the big room youre in. Makes relying on the map when going places leading your wrong, minor but annoying to aggravating at times.

A great Metroidvania game that's similar to "Chasm" but has a few drawbacks: - The maps are few and there aren't many places. - The game's completion time is very short. - There are not many skills.

Unfortunately game is not polished and even has gameplay crippling bugs.

5/10 Aprobado (justito) Juego de plataformas y acción. En la descripción pone metroidvania, por el tipo de niveles y objetos es mas un RPG/plataformas en 2D. Los graficos son aceptables, pero algo mas de fluidez de animaciones estaria bien para el PJ. Las animaciones son basicas, pero tienes una esquiva hacia atras, y varios poderes que conforme los desbloquees (se desbloquean con puntos) se nota mejora. Eso si, caes a plomo, solo te paras un poco atacando. Los bosses y monstruos es lo que mas me ha gustado, con sprites coloridos y diferentes. El mando responde bien, pero hay algunos tirones en las plataformas moviles. En definitiva, si lo pillas muy barato y te gusta el genero, dale un tiento que mejora conforme avanzas, pero no te esperes una gran maravilla.

tl;dr - This version doesn't even feel good to play. Its really weird....this is a remake of a game that was bugged pretty bad. It is also double the cost of that bugged game. Yet....I prefer the bugged version. The bugged version feels more...complete. The controls in this one feel a bit more sloppy....like you are trying to stop on a slip n slide. The map is uneven (doors aren't where they appear).And as nice as it is to be able to teleport from save point to save point...the mechanic for choosing where to teleport is extremely 1990s bad. I sit here and think of what could I say that is good about this version over the bugged one, and the only thing I really come up with is that this version is longer. But the other version has more replayability. So is that a good thing? This one is also more metroidvania than the other....basically by linking the stages together from the last. So maybe that is the deciding factor for you. I'm just at a loss how it could fix so much, but come out feeling inferior. P.S. - There are still bugs. New bugs. In face I think I am just going to uninstall this version and keep the first one. The first is much more enjoyable.
