Inbound

Its a decent game, decently polished and no real bugs aside from the music turning itself up over and over. Problem is if you are past the honeymoon period of the VIVE, this game will leave you empty. It is interesting for probably 30 minutes then becomes quite boring, it needs something more to its gameplay for the wow factor. A decent title but not worth $16, there are better titles out there with more replay value.

Welcome to the arcade of the future, it's so much fun seeing old favorites from a new perspective! Everything sounds and looks great, I love the space backgrounds. The controls are simple, but the game gets challenging quickly as more and more attacks are sent your way.

My Specs: GPU: GeForce GTX 1070 CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-7700K CPU @ 4.20GHz Memory: 16 GB RAM (15.94 GB RAM usable) Inbound is a great VR arcade title and lives up to the description of being similar to Missle Command. Graphics are good, gameplay is fun and both hands are required to progress. When I used to go to the mall arcades back in the 80's as a young man Missle Command was one of my favorites and Inbound doesn't dissappoint bringing that experience to the new millenium. The dev seemed to have made the game in a way that the waves are changed up a bit. Some are normal length and some are surprises and quickly completed. This game came out a year ago or so and I wish I bought it way back when. Even for the regular price of $12 or whatever it is it is worth a buy. Someone was suggesting a seated experience but I think standing is the best way to play as I was reaching a lot to get a little closer to the missles before they out ran my reaction time. If you like wave shooters and arcade type games in VR then get this. I don't like wave shooters and arcade VR much but I liked this one. Simply put this is a modernised version of the Atari classic Missile Command in VR. The basic principle is the same in this game, you are defending a base against an attack which mostly comprises of missiles. However in the Atari classic you only face missiles and only have one weapon to fight them with. Here you face missiles, aircraft, a drone thing (that reminds me a lot of the "Hunter Killer" from Terminator) and Mechs and you have blasters (the main weapon) missiles and occasionally mines. Much like the classic though this seems ot be a high score game with endless waves getting progressively harder until you are finally defeated. That's not a negative though, I've often said that the most fun to be had in VR at the moment is from games that are suspciously simple to Atari 2600 games and it's true. Given this game is incredibly cheap (£2.09 at the time of writing), this is a definite thumbs up. For such a cheap game you are getting something very simple, but fun, addictive and actually quite nice to look at. I wouldn't call it immersive as such given you are an invisible giant floating over your colony, but actually it didn't feel awkward, it just felt like a game. My usual VR rating system doesn't really work for these short Atari style games so I'll just give you a score: 3/5 Well worth £2.

A great VR take on an arcade classic! It's like Missle Command in VR. The environment look really good, and everything has a lot more polish then many VR games at this point. It's a great pick up and play game, and it uses the VR well. Easy to learn but difficult to master it gets pretty intense.

This game is a legit missile defense rocking good time.
