Iesabel, developed and published by Forever Entertainment S.A., is an action role-playing game that clearly sets out to emulate the classic hack-and-slash formula popularized by genre staples such as Diablo and Torchlight. Set in a dark fantasy world threatened by demonic forces, the game places the player in the role of a chosen hero tasked with restoring balance through relentless combat, exploration, and character growth. From the outset, Iesabel presents itself as a traditional ARPG experience built around real-time battles, a steady stream of loot, and a long journey through varied environments filled with hostile creatures and supernatural dangers. At its core, the gameplay loop revolves around clearing enemies, completing quests, and improving your character through experience points and equipment upgrades. Players choose from different combat styles, including melee-focused builds and magic-oriented characters, each supported by a range of skills that can be unlocked and upgraded over time. The sense of progression is one of the game’s stronger elements, as enemies regularly drop weapons, armor, and magical items with varying stats, encouraging constant comparison and optimization. For players who enjoy the simple satisfaction of watching numbers go up and builds slowly come together, Iesabel can initially feel rewarding, especially during the early hours when upgrades come frequently and new abilities steadily expand your options. The world of Iesabel is divided into multiple locations such as villages, forests, swamps, caves, and crypts, giving the adventure a sense of scale and forward momentum. Visually, the game aims for a dark and moody fantasy atmosphere, with environments that are distinct enough to keep exploration from feeling completely flat. While the visuals were serviceable for their time, they feel dated today, with stiff animations, modest effects, and character models that lack detail. Still, there is an earnest attempt to create a cohesive fantasy setting, and players willing to overlook technical limitations may appreciate the variety of scenery and enemy designs encountered throughout the campaign. Combat in Iesabel is straightforward and fast-paced, relying heavily on repeated attacks, skill activations, and potion management. While responsive enough to function as intended, it lacks the depth and polish found in more refined ARPGs. Enemy encounters often blend together, as many foes behave similarly and require little tactical adjustment beyond managing health and positioning. Over time, this repetition can lead to fatigue, especially during longer sessions where combat encounters feel more like chores than challenges. Boss fights attempt to break this monotony, but they rarely introduce mechanics complex enough to significantly alter the overall rhythm of play. Narrative and storytelling are among the weaker aspects of the game. The plot follows familiar fantasy tropes of corruption, betrayal, and heroic destiny, but it struggles to present these ideas in a clear or engaging way. Dialogue often feels awkward, with writing and localization issues that make story moments difficult to take seriously. As a result, many players may find themselves ignoring the narrative entirely and focusing purely on combat and progression. Voice acting and presentation further undermine immersion, contributing to a sense that the story exists more as a backdrop than a compelling driving force. Technical and design issues also play a significant role in shaping the experience. Originally developed with mobile platforms in mind, Iesabel shows signs of being adapted rather than fully redesigned for PC. User interface elements and controls can feel clunky with mouse and keyboard, and overall polish is lacking. Bugs, balance inconsistencies, and general roughness detract from the flow of gameplay, making the experience feel less refined than modern expectations demand. These shortcomings are especially noticeable for players familiar with more polished ARPGs, as comparisons tend to highlight Iesabel’s limitations rather than its strengths. Despite its many flaws, Iesabel does retain a certain niche appeal. Players who enjoy old-school, grind-heavy action RPGs and are willing to accept dated visuals, repetitive combat, and technical roughness may still find some enjoyment in its straightforward structure. It offers a long campaign, plenty of loot to chase, and enough character customization to experiment with different playstyles. For those approaching it with modest expectations, particularly at a low price point, it can serve as a time-filling dungeon crawler rather than a standout genre experience. Overall, Iesabel is a game defined by ambition constrained by execution. It succeeds in delivering the basic elements of a hack-and-slash RPG but struggles to elevate them beyond mediocrity. While it may appeal to players seeking a simple, no-frills action RPG experience or those nostalgic for early mobile-style ARPGs, its repetitive gameplay, weak storytelling, and lack of polish prevent it from standing out in an already crowded genre. Rating: 3/10
i like
Most of the negative stuff has been pretty much said by all the other reviews, so ill just add what was frustrating to me that others did not mention. Spending points in crafting can feel very misleading as certain ingredients you don't get until the last dungeon in the last act
Looking at you White powder for identify scrolls
. Crystals i never found out what are used for, and potions are abundant enough and you can just buy more if you have a nervous trigger finger. leveling feels a bit weird you enter a new area and get levels very quickly then i just cuts off as if you have the max lvl for getting xp of those mobs, this can make some boss or semi boss fights early on tricky if you have not chosen a functional build as you can't go back out and level up some more. Good gear has a very low drop rate! do not feel guilty for using the teleporter back and forth from the towns (the shopkeepers get new inventory everytime you do). in act 2 I had to use this tactic just not to get 2 shot from enemies
I would recommend doing this in act 2 as the teleport stone is right next to the shops, and you are going to do this alot of times , think rolling a 18/00 strength on a baldurs gate 1 and still getting good overall stats.
. If this and the other reviews has not deterred you i recommend playing the witch, when you reach the point of just wanting to speedrun the whole thing you have teleport.
A sok negatív értékelés ellenére nekem tetszik.
