Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 8.86/day in the week to Aug 7 → 13.71/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,404 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Ojalá hicieran un juego más largo con esta mecánica del gancho.
First things first: The game is exceptionally short. 15 minutes is about the time it took me to beat, including the few times I died. (Not including the time it took me to try and get the game to work in the first place, seems to break sometimes if you tab out in certain areas). I'm sure someone who's slightly better at me at video games could very easily beat it in 10 on their first try. The gameplay's pretty fun, but has some huge issues. The damage is incredibly inconsistent, with some giant falls through a whole area taking about a quarter of your health and hitting your head slightly on a rock a few feet away can sometimes take about half, but the game isn't long enough for that to really be a major issue. I never got to have any interaction with the main hazard (centipede) because it always just turned around every time it got close or I just outran it by walking, so that should give you an idea of how well that works (Nightmare mode seems to make it a lot more threatening which I like). There's save points, but they're locked behind certain paths which you seemingly cannot know lead to saves a lot of the time. I only ever hit 2 because of this, and since they're the main things that I assume tell you the story, I didn't really get the story either. Nightmare mode is fun and adds a bit of replayability, but it's the same map and everything just with altered stats, so there's only so much you can do. Haven't tried First Kiln because I don't really want to (though it sounds neat), and the inverted maps seem to just be the map flipped upside down so no new content there either. It's a weird game in my book, because it seems to be really high quality with the visuals and design, even having a story (though it seems to be a very simple one), but it just doesn't have any actual content beyond the first 15 minutes. I feel like it would have been better off either being less fleshed out and arcadey, or more fleshed out and longer. I'd put it as a neutral if steam recommendations had that as an option.

This is one of the best games I've played in a while. I was initially drawn to it for the environment/atmosphere and the concept of descending into darkness while being chased by a scary bug. But the grapple mechanic is so insanely satisfying and addictive once you really get the hang of it. The gameplay can be fast paced if you choose or if you keep going past the normal mode it'll become a requirement. The store page trailer doesn't do it justice. Difficulty scaling of the other modes/levels feels well done, and actually helped me get better at the game doing them in order. For $2.99, this is a steal
short game but verycool
Very, very tense atmosphere... I never experimented such fear in an hour. The gameplay is great once you learn a few tricks or two, and the creature chasing you gave me goosebumps every damn time... For 3€ it's nice but kinda short (1-2h of gameplay I'd say)
Idols of Ash is a very small game, but from its small span I can say- I've played a few different 'megastructure games', a few different 'climbing games' and a few different 'grappling hook games', and been diffusely let down by each of them. Idols of Ash gives me something I can finally point at and say, "this is what I'd been hoping for", but it also, far away, shows me, "oh, this is the tone and exploratory structure that Thief: The Dark Project was going for way back when, wasn't it? (This is what Dark Messiah of Might and Magic saw in Thief: The Dark Project, isn't it?)" Within its small span Idols of Ash has given me a moody experience, a nail-biting challenge, a better sense of other games I've been playing and a renewed appreciation for some of my favourite games. I highly recommend it. (I write this while still in 'grappling hook mode' - I'm a human-shaped pendulum dangling from a ledge of ancient stone. Help.)
ive finished this game 5 times over and now i need MORE grappling-decension games wish this game had workshop support so i could endlessly scale down more horrifyingly large pits with spooky enormous earwigs..
Short, well made game for the price. It was fun to 100%, and I think it would be cool to see some more maps.
