⣿⣿⣿⠟⠛⠛⠻⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⡟⢋⣩⣉⢻ ⣿⣿⣿⠀⣿⣶⣕⣈⠹⠿⠿⠿⠿⠟⠛⣛⢋⣰⠣⣿⣿⠀⣿ ⣿⣿⣿⡀⣿⣿⣿⣧⢻⣿⣶⣷⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⠿⠶⡝⠀⣿ ⣿⣿⣿⣷⠘⣿⣿⣿⢏⣿⣿⣋⣀⣈⣻⣿⣿⣷⣤⣤⣿⡐⢿ ⣿⣿⣿⣿⣆⢩⣝⣫⣾⣿⣿⣿⣿⡟⠿⠿⠦⠀⠸⠿⣻⣿⡄⢻ ⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⡄⢻⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣶⣶⣾⣿⣿⣿⣿⠇⣼ ⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⡄⢿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⡟⣰ ⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⠇⣼⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⢀⣿ ⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⠏⢰⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⢸⣿ ⣿⣿⣿⣿⠟⣰⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⠀⣿ ⣿⣿⣿⠋⣴⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⡄⣿ ⣿⣿⠋⣼⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⡇⢸
Idle Heroes: Odyssey is an idle role-playing game developed and published by OnigiriStudio that combines automated progression systems with hero management, town development, and long-term strategic planning. Rather than relying solely on passive advancement, the game introduces layers of management mechanics that encourage players to balance combat growth with infrastructure building and team optimization. It takes familiar ideas from idle RPG design and expands them into something that feels larger in scale, creating an experience built around patience, efficiency, and gradual progression. The game places players in charge of building a group of heroes capable of facing increasingly dangerous enemies while uncovering treasures and strengthening their overall capabilities. The structure follows the classic incremental formula where small gains slowly evolve into major milestones, but Idle Heroes: Odyssey keeps progression engaging by introducing multiple systems that constantly feed into one another. Early decisions regarding hero selection and resource management can influence long-term performance, encouraging players to think beyond immediate upgrades. Combat plays out largely through automation, allowing heroes to fight and gather rewards while players focus on broader strategic choices. Defeated enemies provide resources that can be invested into improving equipment, strengthening heroes, and expanding overall progression. Watching a party slowly evolve from inexperienced adventurers into an unstoppable force becomes one of the most satisfying aspects of the game. The gradual rise in power captures the appeal of idle progression while still giving players enough control to feel invested in their growth. One of the more distinctive elements comes from the town-building systems integrated into the experience. Heroes can take on responsibilities beyond combat by working in buildings that contribute to economic development and resource production. Locations such as taverns, blacksmith facilities, training structures, and merchant establishments become essential pieces of long-term growth. Expanding the settlement creates additional advantages that strengthen future expeditions, giving town management genuine importance rather than treating it as a secondary activity. Hero management introduces another layer of depth. Building an effective group is not simply about collecting the strongest characters available. Different hero strengths and combinations influence overall performance, rewarding players who experiment with different strategies. Finding synergy between heroes gradually becomes increasingly important as stronger enemies appear. The game encourages players to refine their approach instead of relying purely on raw numerical growth. Equipment progression and treasure collection further reinforce the long-term advancement systems. New gear improves combat performance while valuable discoveries create additional opportunities for strengthening a team. Resource allocation becomes increasingly important over time as upgrade choices expand. Players must constantly decide which improvements deserve immediate investment and which long-term goals provide greater value later. This creates a satisfying sense of planning that helps the experience avoid feeling overly passive. The progression structure benefits significantly from how interconnected its mechanics become. Improving heroes increases combat efficiency. Stronger combat performance improves resource acquisition. Better resources strengthen towns and infrastructure. Those improvements then create advantages that accelerate future growth. This continuous cycle creates a rewarding feedback system where nearly every improvement contributes toward another layer of progression. Visually, Idle Heroes: Odyssey adopts a practical presentation style focused on clarity rather than spectacle. User interface design emphasizes accessibility, ensuring players can monitor growth systems and progression information without unnecessary complications. The visuals support the management-heavy gameplay effectively even if they do not aim for technical excellence. Players drawn primarily to progression systems will likely appreciate the emphasis on functionality. The game does occasionally reveal limitations common to idle RPG experiences. Certain progression phases may require extended grinding, and some players may find advancement slows noticeably during later stages. Players searching for highly story-driven adventures may also discover that progression systems receive far more attention than narrative development. Idle Heroes: Odyssey prioritizes optimization and long-term growth over cinematic storytelling. Despite these shortcomings, the game succeeds by offering more depth than many idle experiences provide. Town development, automated combat, hero synergy, equipment progression, and resource management combine into a satisfying gameplay loop that rewards consistent investment. Players who enjoy refining strategies and watching carefully built systems grow increasingly powerful will likely discover a great deal to appreciate. Idle Heroes: Odyssey does not attempt to completely reinvent idle RPG design, but it strengthens familiar mechanics through smart additions that make progression feel more meaningful. Its strongest moments come from watching multiple systems work together as careful planning gradually transforms a modest group of adventurers into a highly efficient force capable of tackling greater challenges. For fans of idle progression combined with management mechanics and long-term optimization, it delivers a rewarding experience that remains engaging well beyond its opening hours. Rating: 5/10
