I came across Ichima-San via social media and it caught my eye. Playing a small doll evading burglars seemed like a pretty novel idea. Now, I've played, it's not exactly what I was expecting. While the stealth and burglar part is still very much present, the game is much more of a collectothon than a stealth game. I didn't mind too much however since the game is quite charming. All the NPC dolls have very interesting, quirky or just fun facts to share. Exploring the house is also quite fun and you revisit older sections later when you have items that allow you to access previously unreachable areas. There's a few fun and challenging mini games to boot. Final boss also has a fun and unexpected kind of fight. Just overall game was a lot of fun. Got no real complaints aside from ending being a bit simple. Or no extra cutscenes for getting 100% completion.

I just finished the game 100% in about 9 1/2h. I think I could best describe the game as, "comfy". While the game is primarily about you sneaking stealthily to your objective in your quest to regain your stolen body, the game overall had a very relaxed feel to it (and the mostly calm soothing soundtrack helped too). Whether you are chatting with a possessed object tucked away in a cupboard, fishing in a tiny pond, tiptoeing out of sight near the ceilings, or speeding down a hallway on an abacus (I must admit that was pretty neat), it was always a joy watching the little doll try her best to navigate through the nooks and crannies of the massive house. The mini games were challenging, but fair (although I probably spent a bit more time on the dance mini game than I should have). All in all it was a very charming game.
haven't finished the game yet as of writing this review. it's a lot of fun so far. it's not a horror game as what it would appear from the surface. rather a relatively relaxing 3d platformer. it's just a bit on the costly side, though.
Ichima-san is one of those great ideas that I really wish had a bit more budget and expertise behind it. Essentially an incredibly Japanese take on Home Alone meets Toy Story, you play as a traditional doll trying to get rid of burglars by setting off alarms, knocking vases on their heads and...well mostly it's that. The other half of the game is a collectathon, with some strong level design, interesting minigames and even some light metroidvania elements. Unfortunately Ichima-san is held back by some serious jank, with some whack physics, broken lighting and generally low rent feel to everything. In spite of these rough edges it's still a lot of fun, and the concept is strong enough to hold your attention for the 7 hours it'll take to 100% it. It feels like a lost PS1 game (take this as both the compliment and criticism it is), and it's recommended for anyone who likes cute characters and is willing to forgive some rickety design.
