Laggy. Buggy. Poor multiplayer with obvious pay to win, you get nothing for doing it except a rank. You can start with the best armor and pick the best weapons. Microtransactions out the ass, examples are healing potions, damage buffs. Pretty ♥♥♥♥♥♥ game, dont buy it for pc when you can get it for free on ur phone.
An overpriced IOS port (which you can get for 3 bucks on that platform, by the way) that doesn't take advantage of it's new PC space in anyway other then upgraded visuals. The combat is repetitive and doesn't do anything to distance itself from far better experiences in Chivary, and is as cookie cutter as it comes. For something that's supposed to be “historically accurate” as the description says, it's only the weapons that stand out in terms of accuracy. Honestly, there's nothing really “fun” about this game, it's a hack n slash with problematic controls and obviously doesn't belong on the PC in its current state. Avoid. +: -Some of the art visuals are nice. -At least performance wise it's not bad. -There's a variety of weapons? -: Combat is boring. Literally, it's block once in a while, slash once in a while, and that's about it. Obviously a PC port. Lacks volume sliders, rebindable keys. Doesn't even bother to bring up the right explanations in parts to show what you need to use to activate certain moves. Every weapon feels relatively the same. The lock on feature breaks for no good reason at times, which is a problem in breaking the flow of combat. Animation quality at times is poor, which doesn't help in combat. AI is pretty basic. It's NOT FUN. It's as simple at that. For More First Impressions And Gameplay Footage: http://youtu.be/DZgIhKu6W1w
I, Gladiator is a hack-and-slash game that puts you in the role of Rufus, a gladiator who seeks revenge against the emperor who killed his family. You have to fight your way through various arenas, facing different enemies and obstacles. The game has some positive aspects, such as the graphics, the sound, and the customization. The game has a decent graphics engine that creates a realistic and detailed environment. The game also has a good sound design that adds to the atmosphere and the immersion. The game also allows you to customize your gladiator with different weapons, armor, and skills, which gives you some freedom and variety. However, the game also has some negative aspects, such as the combat, the story, and the microtransactions. The combat system is shallow and repetitive, as you only have a few moves and gestures to use. The combat also relies heavily on quick-time events, which can be annoying and frustrating. The story is weak and cliched, as it follows a typical revenge plot with no surprises or twists. The game also forces you to grind and pay for upgrades and items, as the game is designed to make you spend real money on microtransactions. I, Gladiator is a game that has some potential, but also some flaws. It is a game that may appeal to some fans of gladiator games, but also may disappoint others who expect more depth and challenge.
Just watch Gladiator. That movie has better gameplay than this poor mess just by the virtue of not having to muddle through this crap button mashing borefest.
This game has the worst combat system i´ve seen. In game where you can do nothing except fighting, it can be a problem.
While I paid good money for this pay to win experience it is now free on all devices except PC! And guess what, the PC got the wonky controls!! Thanks! This game is a big frustration because it is simply impossible to proceed without replaying the first few levels over and over again to make some money for better weapons. So it gets really repetitive and boring. If you dare to go to a multiplayer game you will get our head on a stick so fast before you could say “pay to win” Everybody online has better weapons and the noobs will be dog meat! So no gold for you there. And to the developers trying to sell me the pc owner their DLC while giving away their game to everybody else W#F? Patch your game, fix the controls and maybe, just maybe, I’ll reconsider.
Cons- Bad Controls Over healthed enemies Extreme grind (unless if you pay to win) Later on it gets hard not darksouls hard were it actually forces you to think, more like Destiny hard were you just do the same things over and over again hoping it works Pros- You get to chop off limbs The concept and the art work are great but I feel like they could have put more time into creating a better version for the PC (the original is on IOS) Over all if your'e willing to look past the bad controls and repetitiveness then it's actully a not too bad game but i still wouldn't reccomend it
Played it for hour or so. At first it's ok then you realize it becomes repetitive, fight same batlles over and over to grind for gold to buy better equipment. Visuals are a bit cartoon-ish. Want decent gladiator game? Play Ryse: Son of Rome.
Not bad, not bad at all. If you pick it up go through the first chapter 2x, save up some cash, upgrade. Expect a little bit of a grind. It's good though once you get the hang of it, especially with a controller. It grew on me after an initial mediocre impression. Pick it and the dlc up at a discount. And don't worry no in game purchases. Didn't try the online mode much but it too does look promising. It's just casual gory fun. Go for it!
