The preview of this made it sound much more entertaining than it actually is..
Boring. Needs a lot of work.
Nothing more to say here. /Yawn
5/10

Check out my curated list of games
I love horror games like this that are much more "atmosphere" instead of a bunch of cheap jumpscares. Plays like old-school dungeon crawlers too which is neat.
good you can escape darkness i appreciated that the enemies in this game are just some rats and mossballs instead of something.. more, because the game itself is already super dark and heavy enough turned out to be less complex or difficult than I first imagined and reaching the true ending feels great hehe🌻

I steeped out into the sunlight, the darkness left far behind

(basically just mc dodged the scam and said '♥♥♥♥ this ♥♥♥♥ im out')
Güzellik dilerim
Somewhat intriguing. Overall the game was well done and the way of providing story/background/etc was good, but also easy to miss some of it. I did find it somewhat repetitive though, and I doubt I'd have figured out how to get through it without a guide. Thankfully this game isn't grindy. If you're patient and enjoy dungeon crawlers then worth considering, if you pass on it though you're not missing an incredible time.
I Can't Escape: Darkness

Time Played:
1.5 Hours
Last Played:
14th of October, 2025

Seeing as how I spent almost half of 2025's October burning myself out in Borderlands 3 (Without even reaching Guns, Love, and Tentacles, no less...) I figured the best start I could get was playing something I'd been meaning to for the past 5 spooky seasons, and delved into this. Given I did not come out until 1996, this was also my first exposure to a classic Dungeon Crawler.
Yay:
+ The protagonist had the same reaction to the random eye in the wall that I did “[Oh] hello”. + Living buildings are a concept I enjoy. + Mixing, unlike so many others, was plenty audible at default, without 100 being “too quiet to hear without background apps being too loud.
Meh:
~ Little direction given to the player at any point to mixed effect. Sometimes you take damage, sometimes you realise something is harmless. ~ World could have used a bit more background before just throwing you into it. ~ While you're playing as a character whose thoughts are expressed in dialogue, they also barely react to things that many would be completely bewildered by.
Nay:
- The main game seems to pick up where the tutorial left off, which confused me at first. - At recommended brightness, many details are very hard to see, and while you can still flash your E-torch to see areas, keeping it on, necessary to see practically anything in the dark, you'll be left without it. - Omnipresent cursor, even with a controller, and needing to click on specific points meant your time is wasted moving it to places that I felt should be “interact if facing”. - One also needs to manually drag and drop things into the back pack, or use slots, when a “pick up to inventory” option may have been a wise option.... - I thought the combat to be underwhelming, and also unclear. I assumed “tile directly in front of you” would be the range, yet I confirmed I hit a rat in the adjacent tile. - One ending was reached on my second run in literally 14 minutes, and while it wasn't the best ending, when most of the achievements are for finding ways to kill yourself in-game, this tells me content is severely lacking.

Verdict:
While I acknowledge some of the complaints with it may just be side effects of the style of game, I very much feel my Classic Dungeon Crawler experience can sadly only go up from here, as this was an experience I very quickly only started playing to get the achievements, before losing interest in even doing that much. Thus, once five runs that failed to even slightly engage me were up, I idled for cards, then proved the game I could, indeed, escape by shutting it down, and moving to something that would grab me.
Placed in:
5: Dourly-Dismissed
I didn't expect a rogue-like dungeon puzzle game to be as addictive as it was, but this was very well done. I streamed it for around 5 and a half hours because I'm an idiot and kept dying in new and creative ways. The living walls were a personal favourite. It's a fun learning experience, but if you don't like having to restart from scratch every time you die, you won't like this game. Thankfully, the devs did include some QOL changes, meaning you can select to have a map and the ability to save your game if you like.
