About
New York City. July 2063. Four workers have gone missing somewhere in the Brooklyn Understructure, a maze of sewage pipes and abandoned passageways deep below the city streets. Genevieve Marconi, a mercenary with a taste for high-risk jobs, is hired to uncover their whereabouts.
As Genevieve, you'll have to fight your way through a horde of drones. Shoot them with energy blasts or smash them to pieces with your broom. Use volleys of missiles and powerful super moves to turn the tide of battle.
This is a spectacle fighter / shooter hybrid. There's third-person shooting and a fast-paced melee system, plus some extra metered abilities that you can use for big momentum swings in fights. Jenny's got a fairly complex combat toolset, and we hope you'll enjoy learning to master it.
Use Jenny's broom to navigate the treacherous chambers of the Understructure. The game has platforming. It's not too intense, but we wanted to put some in to show off the improvements we've made to our character movement (and also, who doesn't like airdashing over bottomless pits?)
Earn a high score by smashing drones with grace and swiftness. You can spend cash earned during your mission on upgrades and new abilities. Honestly, what else do you want to know? We've put a score system in all our games and this one's no exception. Do long combos to raise your score. Spend your score on new abilities (like special melee attacks, super moves, etc) so you can do sicker combos. You'll also be able to replay the game with your unlocks intact after beating it once.
This game isn't expensive. It's a few hours long, and it's got significant replayability via its difficulty options, scoring system, etc. This is a short game. Please buy this if you like short games.

This is a great addition to the character action video game line-up. The systems and how each interact with each other are pretty neat. For example, melee and dash are on the same resource you have to manage. This may sound daunting, but shooting replenishes both the dash and the melee, which creates this cool interplay between mixing in shots, dashing in, and doing melee. This is on top of the shield being tied to another resource, as well as special attacks tied to a different meter. There's a lot going on and I find it compelling. Platforming is present and it's a bit temperamental. I think it's okay but I could see how people could find it frustrating. My personal nitpick is I wish that the charge attack, especially the aerial version, lingers just a teeny bit longer.
An indie developer made a game that's on par with a demo for a 4/10 hack and slash title from 2002 using Youtube tutorials for Unreal, but according to gen z, it gets 96% positive feedback anyway simply for being indie. The game feels so cheap that it could almost pass for something on Roblox. Jenny the Witch features both hack and slash and platforming gameplay, but the hack and slash segments are generic slop, where the optimal strategy is to dash around on your broom when your shield gets low, rather than to master any moves, and the platforming is usually either brainlessly easy, or janky and frustrating, rather than satisfying parkour. Based on the intro, I thought there would be much more environmental variety than there actually is. The strange lighting? The room with the weird life experiments that looks like something out of Area 51? These are exceptions, rather than rules, in this game's design. Most segments take place in very generic, drab sewers that swap background assets less often than an NES game. Put together with the gameplay, Jenny the Witch is a dull and boring game if there ever was one. This seems like the final project of a college student in a game design course that got a C-. But $7.99?! It should be free and simply requesting feedback, or at most a dollar.

Walled at a janky platforming section. Felt a lot like Oni when I started playing, then hit the terrible terrible platforming and it REALLY felt like Oni. The platforming is not fun enough to commit time to getting good at it.
really fun, makes me think of gg2 overture speaking of gg, sol's j.D being the chargeup move is so funny. saw a tweet doing dustloops and thats how i found this game
Fun and short game, as you unlock more attacks the combat really opens up into some fun combo strings and cool finishing moves. The platforming was, very tough. I feel like even an extra second or two on the timed platforms would make it easier. But the game is very generous with failing platforms. As long as you wait a second between falls your shield should recharge enough to let you try again with no damage. Overall would recommend for a short, fun and cool looking game.
At its core, this game has a lot of potential - fun combat system, great PS2/Gamecube era visuals & challenging platforming, but there's definitely room for improvement. I believe that attacks and skills should magnetise to the nearest enemies or have a lock-on function for melee at the very least. The game runs perfectly fine, but the camera movement on both M+KB and Controller is very "stutter-y" for some odd reason. Only thing I could think of as the culprit is the lack of a refresh rate option, which could very well be the case. Clearly the campaign is meant to be replayed multiple times, since it's quite short and there's an arena mode to play around with when you beat it.
The game is a gem. The only nitpicks I can think of are the enemies that feel a bit spongy at first (But as fights get more massive and brutal, the balance starts making sense. ) and some super tight platforming sections.
This feels like a forgotten gem from the Gamecube era in the best way possible
Great gameplay, was very fun but my experience was affected by a combat bug. I dodge forward then shoot to dodge backwards then I get stuck hovering over the floor. As for the parkour, it was just so hard to do. Doing those timed parkour on mouse and keyboard was not so fun. All in all I loved the game and the final boss was very fun, I hope for a sequel ♡
