Greetings Enforcer, and thank you for enlisting in the Hypnospace Patrol Department! As the corporatocracy sleeps, outlaws are out there committing terrible transgressions all across our beloved Hypnospace, and these virtual streets aren't going to police themselves!
Hypnospace Outlaw is a '90s internet simulator in which you scour Hypnospace's wide variety of weird and wonderful websites to hunt down wrongdoers, while also keeping an eye on your inbox, avoiding viruses and adware, and downloading a plethora of apps that may or may not be useful.
As part of your job as a Hypnospace Enforcer, you'll be watching out for copyright infringement, internet bullying and more, with reports and rewards coming direct from the Hypnospace Patrol Department to your inbox. In your spare time, you can customize your HypnOS desktop however you see fit, with a variety of downloads, wallpapers, screen savers and helper bots to keep you company.

Crawl through Cyberspace: Scour the darkest corners of the Web for scumbag users who violate Hypnospace law!
Dangers and delights: Download groovy GIFS and MIDI files, but watch out for adware, toolbars and hackers!

Overall this title is neat. Not every moment is an exceptional high, but the entire time the game is stylish. They managed to pack a fun story into a weird nostalgic and futuristic experience. I really liked this.
There's a lot to explore but it's more of a nostalgia art project than game -> don't be afraid to consult a guide from time to time. If you're more into the puzzling or jokey aspect, you might prefer There Is No Game or The Roottrees Are Dead over this. But because it did such a great job at capturing a specific time and feel (and because the sequel got cancelled 😭) I even gifted this to a few people.

Great game
I give this game a rank C+ (65-70%) Decent game - a pleasant experience... on sale. See my profile for more details about my reviews. I expected to enjoy and finish this game, as one of the main devs was Jay Tholen, the guy who did Dropsy. Sadly, here there was just not enough for me to stick around. It is still unique and done with lots of thoughts and efforts, hence the C+, 68%. The game is decent at what it tries to do, and I am sure lots of people will love it. Listen, I too am nostalgic of the internet of the 90s, spending my teenage years on it was quite formative. However, making a game about it is another story. It needs content, gameplay and soul that still talks to me, right? While it was the case with Dropsy (amazing content and writing, cool gameplay, lots of soul), here it just does not click with me. The tongue in cheek humor, the society satire, the repetitive music, the quite tedious gameplay, the overall writing... it just feels heavy, full of American culture references, lots of junk content... and the gameplay is just so not intuitive and... fun! There might be good ideas here, but a great game there is not. There is just a decent concept that some will love - and looking at the reviews I might be in the minority - but for me, not enough to stay sadly. The lore in this game was more than I expected, which is a good thing! I loved everything about this game! It definitely made me think about how to solve certain cases.

I felt too much playing this....EXPERIENCE.
One of my favorite games that I've ever played. A completely wonderful game start to finish that can be serious at one moment, and make you fall out of your chair with laughter. No other game is like Hypnospace. 10/10 Recommend.
