It's so sad that it's so difficult to play old games these days without 99 things going wrong. You'd think we would've solved backwards compatibility by 2025. Everything from the late 90s and early 2000s seems to be disappearing right in front of our eyes. I'm happy this exists, but as soon as you begin rolling the bowling ball you can tell it's nothing like the original. My mouse use to fly off my desk trying to get it to roll faster, which is part of what made the original so fun. The physics just aren't there. The ball looks like it's floating in some lanes and in another it's as if it's going over several invisible speed bumps making it nearly impossible to, well, roll down the lane and hit the pins. Alas, I loved this game back in the day along with Labyrinth Plus! Edition. Nothing can stay the same way forever though.

Я не вспоминал об этой игре 25 лет. Она была у меня на диске Microsoft Plus! с еще двумя играми. Но тут я случайно узнаю, что она появилась в Стиме, и я решил зайти поностальгировать. Это 3D боулинг, где вы в сюрреалистичном окружении сбиваете кегли и набираете очки. В принципе, это всё. Ну еще есть аркадный режим до 4 человек, где вы можете с одного компа поочередно гонять шары. В игре 6 уровней (Сан-Франциско, Токио, Лес, Классика, Развалины Рима и Корабль) + еще 6 наркоманских уровней, которых я в оригинале не помню (там всё кислотное и усложненное, я бы так их описал). Первое, что я заметил - это измененная графика. Её как-будто деграднули немного, потому что шары выглядят не такими красивыми, анимации где-то корявые. Да и само окружение как-будто победнело в плане графики (почти на всех уровнях всё картонно выглядит кроме кегль и шара). Второе, это то, что изменили звуки. Например, когда выбиваешь Strike - теперь не звук аплодисментов, а какая-то стада тумба-юмба, которая вопит ОЙ ОЙ ОЙ. Непонятно зачем это сделали. Некоторые звуки по громкости выше чем остальные (например, окружение в Токио в разы громче чем всё остальное), регулировки звука здесь нет, к сожалению. А в остальном всё осталось по-прежнему. Это такой же оригинальный со своим своебразным дизайном боулинг с прикольным геймплеем. Но сейчас, конечно, эта игра смотрится как раритет, к которому надо относиться с уважением (все-таки ей 25 лет уже). Но если у вас были эти игры на Microsoft Plus! и вы захотели поностальгировать - то рекомендую попробовать. Жаль, что они не выпустили Russian Square Plus! и Labyrinth! Plus - видимо, Микрософты права не дали))

I miss my childhood I loved playing hyperbowl when I was just 4 years old :( now I'm 24.... sigh...

I remember playing this for the first time on an old XP machine at my grandparent's house many moons ago. I'm so glad to see this on Steam! I do wish they could add the native Linux version to Steam, as the Windows version doesn't work using Proton. Though if you install Luxtorpeda and change the compatibility settings, you can get the Linux version to run on Steam instead of the Windows version.

-Hyper Bowl, der Klassiker aus meiner Kindheit- Hyper Bowl war ein Meisterstück meiner Kindheit und eines meiner ersten Spiele auf dem Röhrenbildschirm und Windows XP meiner Eltern, in der Demo-Version. Nun, mit fast 30 Jahren dachte ich mir ich gönne mir diesen Spieleklassiker für 0,90€ in der Vollversion und was soll ich sagen, ich wurde nicht enttäuscht. Mit über acht verschiedenen Bahnen rollen wir die Bowlingkugel mit absolut KEINER chirurgischen Präzision über die verpixelte Map! Mit den unfassbaren Grafikanforderungen kommen die meisten Prozessoren in der heutigen Zeit nicht mehr klar deshalb kann es zu Pixelfehlern kommen. ABER! dieses Spiel ist perfekt um zusammen im DC mit einem Freund und zwei Flaschen Jägermeister um Ruhm, Ehre und sein Erstgeborenes zu spielen. Mich nimmt dieses Spiel auf JEDEN FALL mit und ich würde es in die Top 10 meiner Spieleklassiker packen. Auch hat mich noch kein Spiel so sehr motiviert eine Bewertung abzugeben. EINFACH SPIELEN und genießen! LG euer Otto.
