About

About The Game:
Hyper Team Recon is an adorable 3D platformer about three aliens and their adventure across Earth! Three energetic alien slimes, Ember, Penny and Lite, are tasked to travel to Earth in order to learn more about the lifeforms inhabiting the planet, using their species' unique morphing abilities to disguise themselves as girls in order to keep a low profile!
But after their ship crashes after a non-specific captain falls asleep at the wheel - *cough* Ember *cough* - The trio get split up and stranded on Earth, leading them to each traverse through a variety of locations full of platforming, puzzles and combat, meeting a lively cast of friends and foes along the way!
On their journey, each of the girls will make friends with the people and creatures they find on Earth that they can trust! Friends who will be happy to tag along and help the girls re-unite, fix their ship, and complete their mission, as well as let them copy their forms to gain new abilities along the way! These abilities include a glide to cross large gaps, a pointy shell to keep hazards at bay, magic spells from a jellyfish, and more!
However, there will also be some people who won't be as hospitable for their alien guests, ranging from angry snails, evil turtle queens, and even undersea pop-stars! These enemies will stop at nothing to make life harder for the squishy slimes, but that won't stop them from simply morphing into their enemies and using their own moves against them in combat!
Tracking the slime's progress every step of the way is H.E.R.B, a helpful slime A.I who keeps up-to-date with what's happening on Earth, while using the foil collected to fill out his scrapbook, a special book to fill with foil to unlock goodies, like new outfits, bite-size challenge zones, extra cutscenes, and more!
The adventure doesn't stop there! Complete all 3 challenging sub-goals in a level to collect medals and unlock even more costumes, and unlock a secret ending that may or may not be there once you collect every single medal! (Or you might just get a slightly different jpeg at the end of the credits, we'll see)

I haven't finished the game yet, but I want to support the developer with a positive review. This game is basically Paper Mario x Kirby with cute slime girls that can turn into enemies and funny humor all over the place. The game doesn't take itself seriously and this benefits its charming atmosphere a lot. I've learned about it through Duels of Fortune, where Ember is a playable guest character. So far I've finished the first three levels and it has been a fun experience. The levels are sometimes a little too long and would benefit from a "skip dialogue button" on repetition, but overall it's quite a unique experience. I will update my review once I finish the game, if you aren't sold on it yet TRY THE DEMO!!!!
A charming 3D/2.5D platformer with fun, self-aware writing, adorable character design and an interesting shape-shifting mechanic. Throw in some Immaculate Live2D animations, and we have a real winner on our hands BIG recommend.
Just finished chapter 4, this game is so cute and fun, I really hope it gets more recognition, the game just oozes with charm while being a very solid platformer
A short cute game, plays well on Steam Deck at any resolution. I do feel movement is a bit slow, but the levels don't demand much movement. Levels are cute, but doesn't have much varied platforming challenges. A cute, if short and simple, platformer that I would recommend. Hope the next game is bigger.
Cute and simple platformer. Perfect for chilling. The only bad thing is that the in-game scenes cannot be skipped, only make the text faster, which made a bit too repetitive level retries for obtaining the no death medal on every level. I also would say is a bit harsh having a no death medal in a game where falling anywhere kills you, an easy mistake in a paper-like game (even with the drop shadow) at least for me. But otherwise, a sweet game. I hope the next game is in the works or at least planned. Maybe an open-world game like Lego's Underground? It doesn't matter what is it, the charismatic characters are enough for me to play it.
I wish Ember was real.. (I NEED a second game NOW RAHHHH) The live 2d was a nice touch and the music was good too. Genuine gem on steam; would recommend if you love stylized platformers and goofy dialogue
Hello! Might as well write a review after finishing the game right? Sooo... Good game, really enjoyed the humor and loved the artstyle all around. When replaying I kinda wish for a sprint button and a way to skip cutscenes, but over all a very relaxed and fun experience, laughed a lot. (Btw pretty sure there is an "ago" missing in Frog Kings hap 10 dialog.) So, in conclusion. A bit more pricey than usual, but definitely worth the experience. (Shout out to Bumles McFumbles video 121.)
A delightful game with lots of charm, and with plenty of love put into it. The art is gorgeous, even if all of the live 2D models are biased towards cute girls. Regardless, this game is great for kids and also good for a relaxing, bite sized experience. Well worth the price for a fun 8 hours for a full clear.
Despite the character art being a little.....weirdly detailed in places, this game was a nice, chill experience from start to end. The gameplay itself is quite easy, but it compliments the aesthetic and collectathon goals well. The story and dialogue is humorous and blends with the overall style of the game. I especially love the Paper Mario-esque visual style within the levels themselves; it's quite charming and all of the characters are very well designed with that style in mind. In tandem with this, I loved collecting the costumes for the characters and seeing all the different models. The morphing ability isn't anything groundbreaking, but it shakes things up enough to keep the gameplay fresh. Levels don't overstay their welcome and have a perfect length, and the secrets sprinkled throughout are fun to hunt for with varied degrees of being hidden. Bosses are also quite easy but they each have a few moves up their sleeves that will surprise you. Music is nothing spectacular unfortunately, but it fits the vibes most of the time and does its job. If I had one criticism though, it would be the No-Death medals. While this concept is fine on its own, if you do accidentally fall off a stage or get launched by an enemy and fall, you have to go through every single piece of dialogue, transition, and in-game cutscene all over again. It's not a big deal due to the low challenge, but if you end up making simple mistakes multiple times over and have to replay a level more than a few times like I did on a couple, it gets quite irritating. Personally, I think once you beat a level once you should be able to skip anything that isn't gameplay, but it doesn't detract from the experience too much as I still 100%'ed the game in 8 hours. Also the drop shadow on your character could be a little more pronounced. Overall, if you are looking for relaxing platformer that's pleasing to the eyes, this one won't disappoint.
A very cute and fun platformer. Ember, Penny, Lite, and all the others really provide a wonderful cast of characters (if a bit trope-y at times). I particularily like Ember (who gives off strong Neptunia vibes), Lite, Ali, and DJ Pincher. The story is a little bit all over the place, but its still fun regardless. The levels themselves can be a bit basic, but still fun, and there isn't a whole lot of content outside of levels - just some challenges, costumes, and more funny scenes. I kind of wish this game either had some minigames you could unlock or a medal which was tied to a level-specific challenge to add variety. I also wish the base movement speed was a little faster - I know it would change a lot about the physics of the game, but unless I was a slime hopping along, it felt a bit slow moving. But overall, anamazing hidden indie gem. I would highly reccomend to anyone remotely curious.
