For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. About

Hunt the Night is a retro-style action-RPG that blends fast, skillful combat with dark fantasy lore. Play as Vesper, a member of the Stalkers, and traverse the ruined world of Medhram on a mission to save humanity from a deadly cycle of annihilation. Endure nightmarish overworlds, slash through horrific dungeons, face brutal bosses, and wield an arsenal of powers in a relentless struggle against the Night itself.
In the 9th Age, humanity is trapped in a vicious cycle on the verge of extinction. The day is ruled by humans, while the Night brings annihilation by horrid creatures. A group of humans called ‘The Stalkers’ once wielded power to hold back the horrors, but their sacrifice only delayed the inevitable.
Now, as the Night starts devouring every single glint of light, Vesper, a Stalker by right and daughter of a traitor, will travel a dying land trying to save the last embers of humanity. She hunts in a race against destiny, as the shadows lengthen both in the world and in her mind.

Dash through enemies while you unleash your combos, use your weapons or destroy them with your dark powers. You can switch between melee and ranged attack in quick succession: slashing enemies with your sword and then dashing away to use your ranged weapons, avoiding enemy attacks.

Endure the ultimate challenge as you fight the ancient horrors of the Night that have been annihilating humanity over and over in intense boss battles. Learn their weak points, attack patterns and survive through the different combat phases as the battle gets more challenging and extreme.

Create your own build that will adapt not only to your prefered gameplay but also to particular bosses. Customize the upgrades of your arsenal and use the equipment that best suits your gameplay: Critical Damage, Life Steal, Poison, Close Combat, Firepower and more. Collect Sanguine vials, Crow Feathers, Moonstones and Noctilium to increase your stats and get ready to face the Night.

Explore Medhram in a combination of action-adventure and dark fantasy lore. Survive huge dungeons full of traps, enemies, puzzles and challenges. Discover all kinds of locations, from ancient cathedrals and libraries of knowledge to lost kingdoms and devastated floating cities.

Accept a hunt at ‘Crow’s Nest’ and track down the dark beast, find where it hides and hunt the most powerful creatures of the Night. After every completed hunt you will get rewards that will increase your health and dark energy bar.

Meet new characters and discover their tragic past and stories in a world that is on the brink of the abyss.

Immersive and adapted music to every moment, boss and location, with the collaboration of Hiroki Kikuta, Secret of Mana composer.
Hunt the Night Review

Introduction
Hunt the Night is a gothic, top-down action-adventure game developed by Moonlight Games. Inspired by Bloodborne and classic The Legend of Zelda, it drops you into a dark, cursed world overrun by monstrous horrors. You play as Vesper, a Stalker trying to reclaim humanity’s place in a realm swallowed by eternal night. I went into the game looking for something with a bit of Souls-like challenge mixed with Zelda-style gameplay, and overall, I enjoyed it for what it was.

Gameplay
At its core, Hunt the Night offers challenging, dodge-based combat with both melee and ranged options. It encourages pattern recognition, quick reactions, and a bit of resource management. Boss fights are definitely a highlight, with some creative and memorable encounters. That said, I wouldn’t call the game brutally hard — a few bosses took some trial-and-error to learn, but nothing felt impossible. In my opinion, it’s challenging but not at true Dark Souls levels. The game is also fairly short; you can beat it in under 10 hours if you keep moving. Hunt the Night blends in some Metroidvania elements, too, where you unlock abilities to backtrack and explore previously blocked areas, finding more loot and customizing your weapons. That structure is familiar and works well, though level layouts do get repetitive in places. I ran into a few issues with the combat — dodging felt sluggish at times, and certain boss mechanics threw completely new patterns at you with no warning, punishing you with instant deaths if you didn’t react perfectly. One boss near the end especially frustrated me with an unexpected “gimmick” mechanic that killed you outright if you missed it, forcing repeat attempts. That kind of design drives me up the wall.

Art
The pixel art is the game’s standout feature. It captures a gothic horror atmosphere with great style, from ruined cathedrals to twisted monster lairs. Enemy and boss designs are creative and memorable, and the animations are smooth, giving the whole world a haunted, retro feel reminiscent of SNES or early PlayStation games.

Sound
The soundtrack pairs nicely with the game’s aesthetic, delivering haunting melodies and tense boss music that set the tone perfectly. Sound effects, like sword swings and monster roars, are sharp and satisfying. The only downside was the text beeping during dialogue scenes — it got on my nerves quickly and made me skip a lot of the story, which otherwise is a pretty typical “evil takes over the world” tale.

Overall
Hunt the Night is a stylish, atmospheric, and ambitious indie action-RPG with clear passion behind it. If you’re into gothic horror, pixel art, and short, moderately challenging experiences, I’d recommend it. The combat, while mostly responsive, has some frustrating hitbox and design quirks, and the story is nothing groundbreaking. Once I finished it, I didn’t feel like diving into New Game Plus, but I still appreciated the experience for what it was. If you’re looking for a niche action RPG with a classic feel, solid bosses, and some Metroidvania elements, Hunt the Night is worth checking out.

its amazing souls like
Game has an error and crashes on startup, sayings it's being closed in an unnusual way. Well, my C++ libraries are up to date as Win 10 can be, and work fine on everything else. After a little testing and checking doesn't seem like I'm going to get this game running for more than a few seconds each startup so it's simply unplayable. And because I took a bit over two week so to get around to trying to play it (Wuchang fallen feathers had priority from that rough sale period), I can't even refund it now.

Great
Fun, but could do with a bit more refinement.
