How to Fool a Liar King

As someone who played How to Take Off Your Mask, I kept meaning to get this game. Now I finally got this game and I am glad that I did. Both routes were fun to watch unfold. I enjoyed learning more about the world the characters lived in. Also, like How to Take Off Your Mask, it made me laugh a few times. All in all, I enjoyed getting to play another entry of the Story of Eroolia

Y tú, como buen ser humano, eliges mal a propósito para ver qué tan rápido se descarrila el tren romántico. En Steam, al menos, llega con extras de vitrina (28 logros, cromos, Steam Cloud), perfecto para quien quiere una historia ligera con rejugabilidad basada en rutas… y para quien colecciona logros como si fueran medallas de guerra por hacer clic en “Siguiente”. No vas a encontrar un sistema de combate, ni un mundo abierto, ni una revolución narrativa… pero sí una experiencia ligera y enfocada, con suficientes finales para justificar varias vueltas. Lo controversial: en Steam se siente como una fiesta a la que llegaste tarde… y encima eres el único invitado (0 jugadores actuales). Y como las recomendaciones totales están en N/A, te toca jugar al explorador sin brújula: o descubres una joyita personal, o confirmas que el silencio también es una crítica. Si te gustan los otome, las protagonistas femeninas y el drama romántico con estética anime, aquí hay material. Si no, este “Rey mentiroso” no te va a engañar: vas a leer mucho, decidir poco, y aun así sentirte culpable por todo. Si necesitas comunidad activa, conversación alrededor del juego o “aventura” con mecánicas más allá de elegir diálogos, mejor ve con expectativas bien amarradas… o este rey te va a mentir y tú le vas a creer feliz.

I don't have a lot to say, really. The art's decent, but the menu's are garish, the voice work seems okay, and the story is hardly the worst thing I've sat through. All in all, it's fine.

If you have not played the prequel, I encourage you to do so before hand as I felt it made the romance in this one twice as enjoyable. The Love interest is first introduced in HTTOYM and by the end of that game, I was very very excited to play this one as I knew it was going to be full of lighthearted humor. Sure enough I was right, and the MC is perfect for the misfit Juli. Personally, I kind of feel slightly turned away from playing the sequel as the MC who is introduced in this story is very pushy. Granted she has valid reasons, so take what I said with a grain of salt. Also if you are looking for a series similar to this one, I would recommend the Holiday otome series that is free to play on itch.io

Me encanta la historia que continua del 1er juego, los personajes son llamativos y muy lindos, mi única observación es que hasta la fecha no tiene la opción al idioma en español como si lo tiene el 1er juego. Espero que lo puedan implementar pronto.

This fully Japanese-voiced visual novel offers a relaxing experience. You don't necessarily need to have played the first game to enjoy it, although it might provide some additional context about a supporting character. While the voices and art may not always reach the pinnacle of quality compared to some other visual novels, they are still quite decent. At its core, this visual novel delivers a short and heartwarming romance story between the two main characters. If you have an appreciation for the Eroolia world or enjoy a sweet and concise romance narrative, 'How to Fool a Liar King' is certainly worth a look.

Милая, светлая история, самое то, что надо, когда хочется чего-то доброго) Новелла небольшая, но приятная, прохождение простое - можно сказать, есть всего два возможных пути развития событий, и две концовки. В целом, она понравилась мне больше первой - и персонажами, и более сложной историей. Юлий - прелесть, запал в сердечко еще с первой части, замечательно, что именно о нем вторая часть. Огромное спасибо разработчикам за возможность насладиться этой новеллой на родном языке, очень ждала этот перевод, и буду надеяться на перевод третьей части :)

I've played a few Otome games and by far this sequel is in my top 3. I enjoyed the different point of views for each of the two main characters in all three games, it gave you a peek into both character's perspectives of the situations they both went through together. I also enjoyed the side characters, their reactions and responses were funny and you got an insight on how they thought of the main characters. Overall it is an enjoyable game to play and it doesn't take too long to complete, even so it still has a well thought out plot (in my opinion). P.S. Before playing this game, make sure you check out the first one to the sequel "How to Take Off Your Mask" because most of the characters will overlap in "How to Fool a Liar King", which is a continuation to the first game. Also don't forget to get the last game to this sequel "How to Sing to Open Your Heart" after you complete "How to Fool a Liar King".
