TL;DR: If you just want to play a "Vampire Survivors-like" game, no matter what it contains, then it would (probably) not hurt to give this one a try. How I Escaped Futa Prison may be one of the least developed games I have played on Steam. However, I can say it is "Vampire Survivors-like" (VS-like). What you see in the trailer is what you get. Your crudely drawn character hopping across an empty sandbox while other crudely drawn characters chase them. There are around 30 gallery images to unlock. You unlock them by finding other prisoners, while playing, and running into them. The other option is to save up $2000 in-game and buying the images from the shop. After playing for 40 minutes (at time of writing) that is not hard to do at all. Some are women with front tails, some are just men, some are just women. Some of the images are safe (just a dude, fully clothed, staring at the viewer), some are suggestive, and some are NSFW. I am not sure where the development of this game took a turn. I remember seeing the original trailer, and it appeared to have game-play reminiscent of Hotline Miami of all things. It is probably not my business to know why the game took such a drastic turn toward a VS-like style. Overall: if you have exhausted yourself of Vampire Survivors, and basically every VS-like (including the other NSFW ones), and just want to play one more VS-like to see what happens, then I would recommend this game.

Half the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ images weren't even futa, fake ass game 1/10

A Survivor style meme game where you take the role of a futa trying to escape futa jail. In the process of escaping you will fight 4 styles of enemies that alternate between waves getting stronger as time goes on. Whenever you level you get to pick one of several items/ upgrades to make the run easier or help in finding the many pics here. That's where my biggest gripe comes in however. While you are escaping you will occasionally see other futa prisoners and you will have a limited time to get to them and save them. You have no way of knowing when one is on the field or where they are to go get them. If you do then you will get a pic of one of the futa prisoners, the guards, both of them together, or horror of horrors nothing. That's right if the pic it would have given you is one you already have then you get nothing. There is no other way to get pics so even though I had 80ish % of the pics by hour 2 it took me 3 more hours to get the last few. Why would I waste my time like this. I'm stubborn I guess, but I did like the art. I'm fairly certain it's AI because the anatomy is odd in some pics like double nipples or the like but I still liked it. As a time waster it could be worse but for what's here I'm comfortable with a $1 recommend. Edit:Apparently you can buy pics in the shop but since I played it on the Steam Deck I'm guessing that some part of the shop must have gotten cut off there. My bad on the bad info.

After really enjoying Holocure and Vampire Survivors, I became interested in trying out more games that played in a similar style which lead me to this game. For $2.99 I figured why not and decided to give it a shot and honestly had more fun with it than I had expected to. With that said I really wish there was an option in between recommend and don't recommend as I truly did find some enjoyment with this game but it is also one I will probably never pick up again. The game starts off with some challenge that becomes much easier very quickly as you buy permanent unlocks from the upgrade shop and if RNG is with you and you can select multiple stacks of slow enemy speed debuff from the level up options, the enemies literately do not move and any challenge you may have had is thrown out the window. Of course you could always opt to not select this option to avoid this. There also is no weapon evolution if you were hoping for that. The graphics of the game are crude from the map you run around on, to the characters and the guard towers that pop up from time to time. Standing in the guard tower zones for the length of time they are there for seems to be the best way of making money which you can use to buy the before mentioned permanent unlocks or any of the unlockable images you may have missed. As for those images you unlock them by either buying them or saving futa prisoners on the map which is honestly worse than just buying the images. You see in order to unlock an image by saving a futa prisoner you have to first actually find one on the huge map, next hope you get to the prisoner in time before the prisoner just suddenly disappears (yes the prisoners are on a timer) and even if you manage all of that you could get a message saying it was a duplicate image you already had rewarding you with absolutely nothing. If you were going into this game only for the futa images you could unlock you need to know that it is a mix of futa, female and male images too. That may be a deal breaker for some but for others they may appreciate this and of course you also have the players who don't really care one way or the other but just really want some more Vampire Survivor style gameplay in anyway they can get it. Honest opinion, if you never played a Vampire Survivors style game, this is not the best starting place. You would do better playing actual Vampire Survivors or Holocure first. If you have played Vampire Survivors or similar game and just want a more I guess sexy version you would do better off playing Wedding Witch as that game looks better and is more interesting gameplay wise despite the fact there is no nudity in that game where in this game there is. If you really like Vampire Survivors and you like futa content for the $2.99 this game is going for, you will most likely find some fun with the game for a little while. Personally I really like Vampire Survivors and that style of game and the futa content didn't bother me. I was curious if an adult style Vampire Survivors game could actually be any fun or if it would just be a waste of money and I did honestly have some fun with it, but I do not see myself ever coming back to this game after unlocking everything as I much prefer playing Vampire Survivors, Holocure or Wedding Witch over this. They look better, sound better and play better. I will still say recommend though because I did have a fun time running around as a futa slaying guards and think that this idea for a Vampire Survivors style game could have been really fun if it had more polish to look, sound and play better.
