Nice party game, "1v1 me" simulator

PUNK!

I was gifted this game from a friend, for full disclosure. A pretty fun game with a simple concept; press the buttons on your keyboard faster than your opponent and then shoot them! There's no online for this game unfortunately, but the local play (tested against myself) works fine. The support for Remote Play Together is what could really sell this to you; if you have a friend you want to play against you can invite them without them needing to own it. That can give this game a lot of value. Pros: + Cute art style + Excels at "easy to learn" gameplay as advertised + Local multiplayer options with support for Remote Play Together + Works on Linux with Proton (needs xact_64 winetrick) + Decent replay value Cons: - Expensive for what you get, you can experience the entire game single-player in about 10 minutes* - Online multiplayer is dead** - Some of the UI is slightly unintuitive, e.g. the back button is at the top of the screen - Story mode is still "coming soon" despite the game being out for over a year * There are other modes as mentioned in the "Pros" section, such as Madness mode and Tournament mode. However Madness is largely the same as arcade, it just uses the entire keyboard instead of a section to the left. ** This is a player-base issue and not necessarily a game issue. If the game got more players it would be more alive, and I think it's neat that it was included all the same. Overall, you can tell work went into this game, and that's probably why it's a little on the expensive side given the content. However if you have people that would play this party game with you on the regular, go for it! If not, or if you're unsure, pick it up in a sale. Really hoping we get that story mode though...
