Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.

Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.14/day in the week to Jul 23 → 0.14/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About
This is not a routine patch, this is a structural refinement of your experience based on player feedback.
Movement is faster. Combat recovery is shorter. Parries now matter. Dodges create space. Enemies react longer. Multiplayer is fairer. The opening experience is clearer. The entire game runs better.
This is the game we always wanted you to play.
Welcome to Hotel Barcelona: Under New Management.
A mysterious hotel stands in a remote location on the border between Pennsylvania and West Virginia. Its luxurious appearance hides a terrifying truth: it’s a trap for America’s most dangerous serial killers.
You are Justine, a novice federal marshal with a deadly secret - your mind is shared with Dr. Carnival, a deranged murderer with a violent past. Together, you must eliminate every killer in the hotel… and try to survive long enough to escape.
This is not a simple side-scrolling action game. The intense battles require tactical movement, precise timing, and clever use of your abilities. Environments are rich with danger and drenched in 1980s American horror movie atmosphere.
Every time you die, a memory of your past self is born. These echoes, known as Slasher Phantoms, repeat your exact movements from the previous run, and can deal real damage to enemies.
Use them as shields, allies, or distractions. With each failure, your strength multiplies.
The more you fight, the more you’re covered in blood. This isn’t just visual flare. Blood fuels your power.
Fill the Skull Gauge by staying aggressive, and when it reaches its peak, unleash Carnival Awakening: a devastating special attack that unleashes something unstoppable but monstrous.
Explore seven unique areas within HOTEL BARCELONA, each inspired by a different sub-genre of horror.
From haunted mansions to twisted laboratories, each zone contains an unforgettable boss battle that demands analysis, strategy, and quick reflexes.

SUDA51 (No More Heroes, Killer7) and SWERY (Deadly Premonition, The Good Life) team up for the first time in this original horror-action project.
Their distinct styles combine into a surreal, gore-filled, unforgettable experience.
At first glance, HOTEL BARCELONA may look like a single-player roguelike. However, the game also features robust online multiplayer if you know how to unlock it. Up to three players can join forces in co-op mode, working together to complete missions and survive the hotel's murderous inhabitants. And for those seeking a more competitive thrill, PvP mode allows a fourth player to invade your world, hunting or being hunted in a brutal cat-and-mouse game.

Now this...is a unique one. The aesthetic alone is worth the purchase and the story is actually very mature and i do mean mature in every way. The voice acting the graphics and the characters are all amazing with so much detail. I even noticed a change in the player character during a debuff that's really subtle but added a really nice touch. Im a rougelike fan so if you read my other reviews and check my game you'll see but i said that to say this...this is a really unique roguelike. The phantoms are really the core gameplay and you're supposed to follow your previous runs route for maximum effect. Nice weapons skllls upgrades and the typical progressions that we all know and love. It probably not for everybody but it's definitely for the most hardcore because its pretty difficult. Now for the devs I hope yall see this...I have one major suggestion and i believe it would improve the gameplay tremendously. The character is way too fast. If she slowed down like 30-35 percent 25 percent mimimal it would give it more controlled feel like on Dead Cells or Bloodstained rather. it's too many enemies on the screen too many phantoms and the enemies hit hard even on the regular difficulty. The slow down in her speed will let the players focus more on the combat instead it being a frantic unnerving kinda out of control pace. The core engine is just right and this is a amazing title.

Fun game to chill and play on the weekend with witty story writing.
fun game out of ten
It's good and I had no idea Swery could write like this, as someone that only knows him from deadly premonitions. It's camp and grungy but in a way that feels very deliberate, given how it channels B-movies and early 80s horror movies. Gameplay wise and given they've redone the combat (which I haven't played the original version), it plays quite well even if it can get a bit dull here and there, but the story lends enough intriuge that It's been keeping me going so far. Though I should state, the game is quite fun, if sometimes slightly slugish but never in a way that stops me from having fun. It's 2D Hades story telling with the gameplay of Deadcells - if it was made by Asmodev. The 2D animated cutscenes are quite fantastic too, and I feel a lot of the budget probably went to the story telling and animation.
Sure, yeah, okay yeah sure, sure, okay, yeah why not okay sure, sure. Sure. Suuuuuuurre.
Good rougelike with some style and it has a nice gameplay loop with a multiple difficulty levels and many references to some classic films . Different weapons for different playstyles and a good mix of unlockables, Would recommend . I specifically like the phantom mechanic to have past versions of yourself help fight through the stages to the boss !
When I first played the demo at Bitsummit, it did look good as a hotel in the Appalachian mountains, but the overall gameplay did feel like staying at a regular motel, where it showed in the rather high difficulty even when fully tuning out the skill tree by playing stage 1 several times, and couldn't even clear Jacob. And when the PS5 version came out and visited it, it didn't feel all that much different. Then, the hotel came under new management, or more like the former owners just gave up and tossed the rights back to the developers, who went to work right away on renovating a game/hotel that was only built 5, 6 months ago. "It got better," the developers said, taking in all the user feedback and adjusted many things, so I visited there again. I was very surprised how better the control response and stamina use was. It was like they dig up a hot spring right next to the hotel, and when I went in, all my muscle cramps/heavy controls were gone. So yes, being under new management can make a thing better, instead of the management only going after profits and shove in microtransactions. Do stop by at the new Hotel Barcelona again and feel the difference compared to 2025 September.
It's got bondage and serial killers and pinball. What else do you need from a game? (I'm glad i discovered this after the massive overhaul to combat. As it stands now, this game is pretty delightful in the expected weird SWERY way.)
A little janky, but it’s a good game. The devs clearly care and keep grinding out updates, and they’ve genuinely shaped it into a much better version of itself. Recommending it to show some love back.
so much fun
