Needs Slav Squat -mode with constant wall and hard bass music
⠀
Hot Squat 2 is not a complicated game, nor is it intended to be. It has a few modes, but for the most part: a wall approaches you. The wall has a vague silhouette of a squatting person cut out of it. Squat to get through the wall. Repeat until your legs fall off. It's very practical at what it does, which is encourage you to do more squats than is necessarily healthy or wise. It's a great complement to Beat Saber, which is mostly an upper-body workout; it's an efficient way to finish up your exercise routine with another heart rate spike and pain in other parts of your body. It's a silly little Gym Thing, and as I am using VR as my gym of choice, it is a very useful part of my VR exercise collection.

Playing this game has only made me realize how much more old and fragile I am
You wanna get the thicc achievement, right? The dummy thicc achievement? You can put those on your profile. Think of how jealous your friends will be. Think of how THICC you can get.
It's limited in scope, but Hot Squat 2 fills in a gap in my VR fitness library - most VR fitness-focused games are very upper-body dominant (and really, shoulder-dominant), so it's nice to have another title to throw into the mix that focuses entirely on lower body. And let's face it, while squats are one of the best exercises you can do, it's boring as hell ripping off a set of 50. Hot Squat is here to fix that problem for you.
Only game my wife repeatedly asks me to play. You simply can't put a price on having buns of steel, but if you could, this would still be a bargain. Loved the original. Love the new one. Ya'll rock
This has really motivated me to get off my fat tush during this quarantine time, and I'm slowly but surely reaching dummy thicc status. My legs are going to be watermelon crushers by the time I get a job again. Would really love to see more updates ♥
"Hot Squat 2: New Glory" is barely, if at all a game, it's more like Wii Fit but with a VR headset strapped on... and while the developers nobly donated all proceeds to charity... there was not a lot of proceeds. Steam gamers are here for games, not fitness training software applications. It was a dismal failure (check below for the peak user figure, it's low, real low). What do you do in the game? Not really a game, you just wave your arms around and pretend you're exercising. Yeah, this didn't appeal to anyone. In terms of visuals, this features fairly low quality low poly 3D graphics which will deter a lot of gamers, understandably. Gaming is a visual medium, and while some developers struggle with creating high quality visuals, failing to do so is a disservice to gamers. It's very difficult to recommend bad looking games. It's VR exclusive, and that shows the developer failed to understand the most basic axiom of VR game design... if the only cool thing about your product is VR support, your product is not cool. This game is fairly dated at 6 years old... it's showing a bit of age and won't give you a very up-to-date gaming experience. On pricing, this is "free" enough, at least you won't be expected to spend any more money after you download this, but just because something is free doesn't mean it's good, and the cost of a game is more than just financial, your time is valuable too. It's free... now, but it wasn't before. The developer was charging $7 USD for this (although this was a charity donation after costs... and this probably cost a lot more to make than it generated in sales, so, I guess we can feel worse for the charity). Price barriers, especially on low quality products, can be a direct cause of failure. It's a nice gesture for the game to be given away for free, but it also tells us that the game wasn't good enough to succeed as a paid product. Despite having no up-front cost, this failed to appeal to the 120 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the game peaked at only 5 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? Nope. This isn't worth downloading. There's no financial cost up-front, but you'd still be spending your time and a little hard drive space on a product that's far from the best. There's thousands of better alternatives on Steam.
