Hot Lap Racing

Très bon jeu pour ma Steam deck, je cherchais un jeu capable de piloter sans volant et qui soit bien fait au niveau des circuits, je suis très satisfait. J'ai joué en manuel sauf pour le circuit sur la riviera où les pilotes IA ne font que des conneries, et donc pas facile en manuel pour remettre la marche arrière surtout quand on est bloqué...A part pour ça, pour l'instant pas d'autres problèmes. Attention c'est un jeu réalisé par des passionnés mais c'est pas un jeu Simu, il est arcade mais tellement bien fait au niveau pilotage que c'est que du plaisir à emmener en vacances ;) Voilà il ne faut pas confondre avec LMU ou Rfactor 2 mais ça vous permettra en vacances de continuer à prendre du plaisir sur circuit....

The game is fun. its kind of like a TOCA or GRID lite , or even a NFS Shift lite with a French flavor. it looks like a sim but has arcade physics and handling and that's fine . its easy to pick up and play. on a good PC with setting on ultra the game looks pretty nice with nice car models , the trackside is not as detailed as the cars but still looks pretty decent. the trees are the weak spot graphically and some look ugly and flat . the AI have a tendency to crash you out on the start sometimes which can be frustrating as there is no restart or rewind options , so all you can do is try to recover and try to catch them and pass them before the finish. other than the at times bad AI i had no other issues with the game. I'm on windows 11 and game runs smooth and have not had any crashes, Pros easy to pick up and play smooth frame rate nice variety of vehicles nice selection of tracks cons AI can be dumb at times and likes to crash you out all races are day time and clear skies no damage , not even cosmetic damage i understand this is the studios 1st racing game , and for a 1st attempt I must say i think they did a pretty good job. i would like to see this become a franchise with sequels. hopefully better AI , different time of day and weather , more tracks and more cars and i could see a sequel being amazing.

Here's the thing. If you're going into this game expecting a AAA sim racing experience, it's only natural you're going to be disappointed. And honest truth, the normal price is a bit of a heavy ask for a game of this quality. But I bought it on special promotion for just under $10 CDN and if you can get it on discount, I'd say it's MORE than worth the money. The biggest negatives I can think of are the lack of any real options to sort of "finesse" the handling model, the AI cars in races being a bit clunky, and a few small functionality things (like no option to switch to imperial units from metric). But when you consider this is an indie racing game from a small studio with a small budget, it's a bit easier to forgive these things. But overall, there are some things I really, really enjoy about this game. The car and track list is interesting, including some tracks I've never seen in other racing games (like Kuwait Motor Town) and some quite rare cars to see in other games. The graphics are terrible by modern AAA game standards but when you consider this game was meant to run on Nintendo Switch, it's actually not a terrible looking game on my PC. Most importantly for me is that I have a pretty old, low-spec PC so a lot of the newest games either run terribly (I can barely eke 30fps out of Le Mans Ultimate) or just not at all. So if you don't have the best PC out there, this will likely still run fantastic. And, as another review noted, this does actually feel like a fully fleshed-out game, not just a tech demo like some other indie racing games as of late. The fact that it is not a sim racer is no issue for me, I do like a good, simple, easy to pick up and play arcade racer too, and that's exactly what this is. I recommend this game if you find it on sale, and if you remember not to expect something on the level of Forza and Gran Turismo, or even on the level of Grid or Project Cars. This is a game from a small studio and it feels like it. But if you're looking for just a good, quick, easy to pick up and play arcade racer, this punches above its weight.

Come gioco arcade potrebbe anche andare per la varietà interessante di piste e di macchine. La cosa indecente è l'IA che nella fase di partenza non ragiona e ti viene addosso. Poi nello scontro sei sempre tu che fai testacoda o voli per aria, mentre tutte gli avversari sembrano caterpillar che tirano dritto come se tu fossi di carta. Capisco che il game non è un simulatore, ma una credibilità nei contatti tra le vetture che renda il gioco fattibile ci deve essere. Alcuni circuiti con le monoposto delle F1 sono ingiocabili anche se in qualifica parti primo nella griglia. Tu stai davanti, di dietro ti sfiorano fai testacoda e tutti ti superano come se fossi trasparente. E' un peccato perchè il gioco avrebbe un buon potenziale. Io l'ho pagato a prezzo pieno, 29 euro. Ma se non rimediano nel migliorare la AI non lo consiglierei neanche al 90% di sconto.
