In short: The experience was overall good, visually awesome, characters and universe were engaging but gameplay a bit frustrating. I recommand, keeping in mind it is a one-developer game with some flaws, but generous in content. - First, I am not a huge lifesim player, so I only have little experience with the genre. - Unique mood. I've found the game really, really beautiful, with generous animations that make the universe really engaging. Loved the character design very much! - Soundtrack was cool, maybe some weird sound emotes here and there, but that does the job putting the atmosphere. - While I still have made it through the game, I've found the gameplay a bit frustrating. It is mainly a problem of good ideas but average execution: some feedback that arent clear, some difficulty to build a strategy on the long run (sometimes hard to find the place where the character you want to talk to has gone, making you lose lots of ingame time) and the fighting mechanics are sadly a bit messy, making it difficult to perform the moves you want. It is really frustrating, because the setting and the mechanics ideas are great! -Writing is fine, and I've found the characters likeable. I wanted to know more about several of them, especially the fighters, so it is a good sign!

A mix of a Fighting game, Visual Novel and RPG, it has some roguelike elements as well like random events, i like the art style and it seems challenging so far, Here's my first video about it :D https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e4F11GuD1dY (I will REMAKE the video eventually)
"Honey Rose: Underdog Fighter Extraordinaire" is more e-book than game, right away that's a problem... this is one of those "dating sims" where you bumble around with stats, although instead of dating your goal is to have a fight. There is a game underneath all the Choose-Your-Own-Adventure high school anime club dropout fan-fiction writing, you do some lightweight arcade fighter/versus stuff... but mostly this is just high school cringe writing. Also the animations are super janky... this looks bad, plays worse, but the writing is so bad, if you can make it to the actual gameplay you have a stronger stomach than mine. The graphics in this game are passable, but could be better. And while it's vital for any game to have impressive visuals (gaming is a visual medium, after all), there's more to a game than just the graphics. To be worth a gamers time, the game must match top tier visuals with top tier gameplay, and that's not happening here. On a technical basis, this is in 4:3 resolution... wtf? What year is it? Did the developer make this on an old CRT they found in a dumpster? Speaking of dumpsters... This is only free in a rudimentary sense... the developer has their hand out for $86 USD worth of "donations" for this as you're expected to buy some extra DLC from Steam... digital panhandling, beggarware. Like the homeless guys who splash dirty water on your windscreen at the traffic lights. Yeah, EIGHTY SIX UNITED STATES DOLLARS on this beggarware. No thanks. Even though this is "free", it failed to appeal to the 120 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the game peaked at just a dozen or so concurrent players, and now there's basically nobody playing it. Even though it's free. This is a dismal public reception, but it's easy to see why gamers rejected it. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? Nope. This isn't worth downloading. While this didn't cost me any money up front, I still feel ripped off.

Box.
