ふつうにおもしろいです。
Fun little game with lots of funny references if your a Hololive fan. Playable on the steamdeck but It doesn't seem like there is steam cloud saves enabled. For the price it definitely has enough content to keep you entertained, but don't immediately expect slay the spire level of depth initially.

Good Game.

HoloSeeker is a roguelite deck-building RPG created by developer Imoyokan and released under the holo Indie publishing label, an initiative designed to support fan-made projects inspired by the Hololive virtual talent universe. The game blends strategic card-based combat with a lighthearted adventure structure, placing players in control of various Hololive characters as they travel through a series of procedurally generated encounters. While the title clearly draws inspiration from well-known roguelike deckbuilders, it also incorporates personality-driven mechanics and references tied to the Hololive community, creating an experience that feels both familiar and uniquely themed. At its core, HoloSeeker revolves around building a powerful deck of cards that determines how combat unfolds during each run. Players travel through branching paths filled with battles, special events, and opportunities to enhance their deck with new abilities. Because the map layout and rewards change from run to run, each playthrough requires players to adapt their strategy depending on what cards and upgrades appear along the journey. This structure keeps the gameplay fresh, encouraging experimentation with different card combinations and tactical approaches as players attempt to survive increasingly difficult encounters. The roster of playable characters is one of the game’s defining elements. Each character is inspired by a member of the Hololive VTuber group and brings their own unique mechanics to the deckbuilding system. Players begin the game with Usada Pekora, whose energetic personality translates into a gameplay style centered on generating and utilizing special carrot-themed resources that help fuel powerful actions. As players progress, additional characters become available, including Nekomata Okayu, Takanashi Kiara, and the twin pair Fuwawa and Mococo. These characters are more than simple cosmetic alternatives, as each introduces new mechanics that change how players approach both deck construction and combat strategy. For instance, Okayu focuses on evasive maneuvers and defensive strategies, rewarding players who carefully manage incoming damage while gradually building up advantages over time. Kiara’s abilities incorporate a phoenix-like revival mechanic that allows her to recover from defeat under certain conditions, encouraging more aggressive playstyles that rely on calculated risks. Meanwhile, the twin characters Fuwawa and Mococo emphasize building up special resources through repeated actions, eventually unleashing powerful attacks that can quickly turn the tide of battle. Because each character encourages a different strategic mindset, mastering the full roster adds significant replay value. The deckbuilding system itself forms the backbone of the gameplay. Players collect cards as they progress through encounters, gradually assembling a deck capable of handling tougher enemies and bosses. Each card offers a distinct ability, ranging from direct attacks to defensive maneuvers and special effects that modify how other cards behave. Some cards generate resources, others apply status effects, and many create powerful synergies when used in specific combinations. Discovering these synergies and shaping the deck around them becomes one of the most satisfying aspects of the game, rewarding players who carefully consider how each card interacts with the rest of their deck. Outside of combat, the game presents players with branching map routes that contain various types of encounters. Battles form the primary challenge, but players will also encounter events that offer rewards, shops where cards can be purchased or upgraded, and story moments that provide additional context or bonuses. Choosing the right path through the map requires balancing risk and reward. A dangerous route might lead to valuable upgrades that strengthen the deck, while a safer path may offer fewer benefits but allow players to recover before facing tougher enemies later in the run. The game also integrates references to Hololive culture throughout its mechanics and visual design. Many cards and abilities draw inspiration from memorable moments, catchphrases, or personality traits associated with the VTubers represented in the game. Fans of Hololive will likely recognize these references and appreciate how they have been translated into gameplay mechanics. At the same time, the references remain subtle enough that players unfamiliar with the source material can still enjoy the gameplay without feeling excluded. Visually, HoloSeeker features a vibrant anime-inspired art style that captures the energy and personality of its characters. Character portraits and battle animations are colorful and expressive, giving each idol a distinctive presence during gameplay. Enemy designs are stylized but varied, ranging from simple creatures to more elaborate boss encounters that require careful strategy to defeat. The interface is clean and easy to navigate, ensuring that players can quickly understand the effects of their cards and plan their next moves during combat. The soundtrack complements the lively aesthetic with energetic music that keeps battles engaging while maintaining a playful tone. Sound effects provide satisfying feedback when cards are played or special abilities are activated, reinforcing the feeling of momentum as players execute powerful combinations. While the audio design is relatively straightforward compared to larger productions, it effectively supports the fast-paced rhythm of the card-based combat system. One of the game’s strongest qualities is its replayability. Because each run generates different combinations of cards, events, and map routes, players are encouraged to experiment with multiple strategies and characters. Even after completing successful runs, there is always motivation to return in order to try new deck builds or master the unique mechanics of another character. This roguelite structure keeps the experience engaging over time despite the relatively small scale of the project. However, the game’s indie origins do mean that its overall content pool is somewhat limited compared to larger deckbuilding titles in the genre. While the available cards and characters provide plenty of variety for experimentation, players who spend many hours with the game may begin to recognize repeating patterns in encounters and events. Expanding the pool of cards, enemies, or map variations could potentially enhance long-term replayability even further. Despite this limitation, HoloSeeker succeeds in delivering a well-crafted deckbuilding experience that blends strategic gameplay with a charming thematic identity. The combination of character-specific mechanics, card synergies, and branching progression paths creates a satisfying gameplay loop that rewards both experimentation and careful planning. Whether players are longtime fans of Hololive or simply enthusiasts of roguelike deckbuilders, the game offers a compelling mix of strategy and personality. Overall, HoloSeeker stands as an impressive indie project that successfully merges fan-driven creativity with solid gameplay design. Its approachable mechanics make it easy to pick up, while the depth of its deckbuilding system provides enough complexity to keep players engaged across multiple runs. With its colorful presentation and strong replay value, the game offers a fun and engaging adventure that celebrates both strategic gameplay and the vibrant world of Hololive. Rating: 7/10
