Charts
Each storefront's own chart, in its own country — the closest public signal to sales where none is published. A country missing from a list is one we don't collect there, not one where the game doesn't chart.

The game is beautiful and comfy, and having my favorite Vtubers helps so much. But I cant in good conscience recommend a game that has Kernel level Anti-cheat. And what is the point anyway? The Steam version cant even participate in the leaderboards. Not to mention, the rhythm game is clunky and awkward in the Steam version, it feels incomplete or like an after thought. What annoys me is that the phone/tablet version is amazing... but this is a review of the Steam version, which feels and plays awful.
It's peak and also playable on linux now. PC version is best for all the minigames, play on mobile for the rythm game though.

As a fan-made game, it’s flawless. The frequent events actually help you figure out who your top pick is, so you can focus all your resources on her. There’s just one important point I need to remind everyone about: I’ve checked with customer service, and this game has different servers (currently known to be JP, ASIA, and GLOBAL). Not only are points tallied based on server-specific rankings, but even mini-games require random matching based on your server. This means that unless holomen create a room to recruit players, if you and your OSHI are on different servers, you’ll never be able to match up with them through random matching. So before you start playing, think carefully about whether there’s someone you really want to play with. For example, if I want to play POKAJAN with KAELA, I’ll have to create an account on the GLOBAL server to meet her.
This review is from the perspective of a PC rhythm game player. I have very little experience with HoloLive, and am mostly focused on gameplay. Don't play this on PC. It's not enjoyable as a rhythm game with a keyboard. It's a 6-key RG, but there's somehow both only 4 channels, yet also 12? It's very obviously designed for mobile players that don't have hand-eye coordination and aren't tapping directly on the correct spot (very high tolerance for missing notes). There's flick notes and drag notes - which just do not work with a keyboard, since we can't flick or drag our keys, and in the hour or so I played, I only got to play 2 songs (one of which was only 40 seconds long). I assume later on you can play them freely, but like, jesus, it's not really a rhythm game if that's only 5% of what I'm doing. A typical interaction in this game is as follows: 1 > move up to character and press E to talk 2 > loading screen 3 > 4 minute cutscene (luckily, skippable) 4 > loading screen 5 > 2 minute text dialogue (luckily again, skippable) 6 > loading screen 7 > quest pop-up on screen that locks you from moving for 10 seconds until it disappears 8 > repeat 1-6 9 > repeat 1-6 again 10 > repeat 1-6 again, again 11 > repeat 7 It's just a slog of meaningless dialogue and loading screens. Worse, they're LONG loading screens, like 15 seconds is typical. The map is tiny, and very low resolution (even on max graphics on a good PC), what can it possibly be loading that it takes that long? I can't imagine how long it would take to do anything on a phone, especially one that's a few years old. I play a lot of rhythm games - and I'm very good at them, to the point that I find a lot of them to be repetitive and boring because the highest difficulty charts are too easy for me. So I'm always excited to see a new RG with other gameplay mechanics (mini-games, park development, etc.) but unfortunatly, all of that content is also clearly designed around mobile players. Every mini-game, dialogue scene, or quest is the same. They're all just a series of left mouse clicks, because PC players don't have a touch screen. My last problem with this is that it's a gacha game. That itself is... fine? But it just means that all the content is half-baked unless you're willing to pay. There's pop-up ads for gacha rolls, banners, and battle passes, there are constant alerts on your screen that don't go away until you spend money, and there's no guarantee that you'll even get the character you want. I don't care for hololive, or vtubers in general, but I know the kind of people that do - and I know exactly how much money they're all going to dump into this game. It's depressing to see this kind of game still being made, and it's more depressing to know how many thousands of dollars are going to be pumped in from mindless whales. Even if these problems weren't present - if the gameplay worked on PC, if it wasn't pay to win, and it wasn't a slog of cutscenes and loading screens - it's still the most 'baby game' I've seen in a long time. Everything is designed to hold the attention of brainrotted people. Bright colors, loud alerts, extremely basic mini-games, and a LOT of explaining and re-explaining mechanics make this just not enjoyable at all. I would be embarrassed to put time into this, and way more so to spend money on this. Hololive has somehow found a way to design a game that treats players exactly how they view them from a corporate perspective - unimportant bags of money that know how to do nothing but spam W's in chat and think the streamer personality is real and loves them. If anybody manages to find enjoyment in this game... good for you, I guess? But please stay away from me... and school zones, probably. Also, not really that important - the steam page says 50GB required, but total file size is less than 10GB.
