I love madoka magica so much. I watched it as it originally aired. I played Magia Record from day 1 to the day the minute the servers went down, seven years. I don't want to call this game a shameless cashgrab but its a mess. They do a good job of archiving the stories that go beyond the anime. They did an excellent job with Different Story, Scene0, Oriko & Tart Magica and the even the rare CD stories. That being said, they didn't stick to the traditional gacha game format. After the first year anniversary, they started to ONLY do exclusives limited characters. The gacha rates are so bad I can not justify spending money on it. And the unlimited characters take a month to get into the unlimited gacha. They have a "key" system instead of a ticket system. And the keys only work on their respected gacha. So you cannot save your keys for a desired "exclusive" unit. The design is soulless. colorless. The game was challenging at the beginning but they toned it down after the initial release and now theres no challenge in the main story. They don't understand LONG BATTLES NO NOT EQUAL CHALLENGING BATTLES. It's just repetitive. You can spend 4 hours doing one battle with the same repetitive moves only to be cut off at turn 100. I don't even remember when the last main story chapter was added. Its all just been story events. And the dialogue is painfully long. Sometimes I feel like i'm being punished for reading the story. Too many flash backs and unnecessary content. I understand the delay of Kiten, the new movie, might have messed up how they distributed content. But after the first year anni it just feels like you have to gamble, not just gacha game gamble, but like really risk a lot. I'm not paying 60 dollars for a CHANCE to pull devil homura. There is no chance at getting a god tier pull like traditional gacha. Theres not even decent PVP. I will continue playing for the love of Madoka but I'd rather just throw my money in the trash. This is not just me being salty because I didnt get what I wanted but I've never played a gacha this insulting. Bringing back the Monogatari characters was insulting.

ゲーム作りのセンスと原作愛の全く無い開発が作る史上最低の拝金主義ゲーム 魔法少女まどか☆マギカ好きは絶対にプレイしては行けません
Nice UI and graphics but insanely boring and repetitive
I've not watched anything Madoka Magica related before; I entered this game blindly having only watched a Homura edit once on an Instagram reel. Anyways after 100% the steam achievement's I can finally say I found the story to be alright. Admittedly I skipped almost all of the visual novel sections just to complete the game more quickly (My attention span is cooked). The gameplay itself was boring and simple; but for a "free game" (I've spent $120 on microtransactions) I guess you can't really expect much out of it. The game will sometimes reach a pause where you can't really play until the next day to level up your characters (Daily missions limits/login bonuses). That wasn't really that much of a problem until reaching Walmart on nightmare mode. Regardless the game gets a solid 7/10, great time waster if nothing else. Also Oriko did nothing wrong and I'll die on that hill.
Genuinely great game for fans of the Madoka Magica series, its spinoffs, and/or Magia Record. It's clearly got a love put into it. The game now is practically completely different from when it first released. There's been various QoL changes that have made grinding less aggravating and dailies less of a slog. Materials flow in very easily, there's a steady amount of diamonds that can be gained each update, and the gacha isn't half bad. For the gacha, there's no pity. But non-limited characters get added to the standard pool after a month, and after a while you can end up with the majority of the cast. They've definitely improved getting more characters and growing your teams. Combat is fun when you get to the endgame content. The stories are great, with game versions of the main series and Rebellion. A shortened version of the Magia Record story(mobile game version!), as well as adaptations of spinoffs such as Tart Magica and Oriko Magica/Sadness Prayer with clear plans to add more. And original stories of their own, alongside replayable event and character stories.
MagiReco died for this 85 hour grind where only 1/8th of it is gameplay and gives damn near nothing but moldy breadcrumbs and warm tap water. Things take weeks to unlock as well. Nice to see where standards lie for Aniplex if you're a F2P.
i literally spent hours grinding on the game for the gatcha, just to get completely nothing at all. the pity system isnt even worth grinding for since you get nothing out of that too, you're not even granted the character you're trying to roll for. instead you get someone completely random. and the battling system is super repetitive and it gets boring seeing the same enemies, doing the same attacks for like 2 whole stages, the only thing interesting is the story and the boss designs. (assuming you barely know madoka magica lore) but even then its still the same attacks in the same sequence over and over. overall this game feels like a cash grab and i just tried it out cause my friends played it. :sob:
物凄いハイペースで色違いのキャラが盗用。 キャラ愛があっても金は続かないだろね。
kinda awful as a game but I guess having a bunch of side content in one place is nice
