Decent gacha with a cool rhythm game and some fun minigames on the side. Mainly for Hololive fans, though I assume rhythm game fans could find something they like. Although it's free to unlock all Hololive members for map exploration, actually playing them within a team is where the gacha system comes in, with all members having 3-5 star variants, as well as different versions with various skills you can try and pull for during events. You get some decent rewards at first, but it's by no means a generous gacha, with rather poor rates, so be prepared to spend if you want to meaningfully collect anything. The gameplay is... fine? The rhythm game is apparently much less clunky on mobile - I wouldn't know - while on PC it's awkward but fine regardless for a bit of casual fun, at least on lower difficulties (although the multiplayer version tended to lag out on my end unless I lowered graphics, which sucked). Minigames are also by and large okay, with some (Pokajan, High & Low, the team-based Shadowbound Chase) more fun than others (Mega Circuit, Hoppin' Rope). Visuals are a highlight; the cute chibis on the game map are great, and the character card art is nice. Music is good if you don't mind J-pop (which you presumably don't if you're playing this). Story is meh, and also not really voiced. So yeah, I'd give it like 3/5. Tentatively recommended if you like rhythm games and Hololive; find something else if you don't.

I should lead with my main complaint being the rhythm game, and that this is a mobile game first. Certain mechanics don't translate properly when converting to Keyboard, which I can understand and accept. That said, the PC version is astonishingly bad. Sharing in-game photos, rhythm game leaderboards, and, randomly, certain in-app purchases are all disabled on PC. Why can't I buy a monthly resource pack on the PC version? Heck if I know. Two of the main rhythm game mechanics (flick notes and the moving long notes) don't work on PC format, and thus, were entirely ignored. Furthermore, the game has an awful habit of thinking I pressed the right button when I didn't, and other times, entirely ignoring button inputs that I see the game knows I pushed, but maybe that's a personal thing. The PC version needs some love, as I cannot for the life of me figure out why sharing screenshots is prohibited on the PC version. Other than that, though, it performs fine on PC, though I notice connectivity issues sometimes. If you're a big fan of Hololive it's fun to play around with the story and all, and they made it very easy to link accounts. In fact, a lot of love was put into this game. There's lots of attention to detail and random funny moments. The writing feels a bit...bland sometimes, but overall it's fine. I'm perfectly fine with some jank on the PC rhythm game because the rest feels wonderful to play. And if you don't care about trying to hit max combo on the highest difficulty, or are just a bit of a noob with rhythm games, there is an Easy mode if you're struggling. I should probably also mention the Gacha mechanics...I personally think "F2P with unlockable characters" is fine, but there are plenty of legitimate complaints about the gacha system as a whole. For Hololive Dreams, though, it's not *bad*, really. It's got a much better pity system than usual, allowing you to choose a 5 star after enough pulls instead of just guaranteeing a random one, and it would be a crime not to mention the fact that 5 stars are a full 5% chance over the usual under 2% chance. And the gacha really does not effect gameplay much, so it's mostly just pick your favorite skin for your favorite talent. You get a decent amount of Gacha Currency #1, so you have a decent number of pulls for each new banner if you save up every once in a while. Overall a good game, 4/5 stars. A game that people put a lot of effort and passion into.
Aspects that make the game less enjoyable: 1. There are no daily Diamond rewards. - Without daily Diamond rewards, there is little incentive for players to log in every day. 2. The material rewards from completing Live stages are too low. - The amount of materials earned does not feel worth the time and effort spent, making progression feel unnecessarily slow. 3. The monthly subscription does not include Diamonds. - This makes players feel forced to purchase the Battle Pass if they want extra Diamonds, and This makes the Battle Pass feel almost mandatory for anyone who wants to keep up with the game. 4. High-Grade Materials are extremely difficult to obtain, even by playing Live stages. - The drop rate feels too low, making character progression overly grindy. 5. Why do players need Mega Sphere Coins just to convert materials into higher-grade ones? - This is a rhythm game, so it's confusing that players are required to spend a separate currency and rely on random success on gambling just to upgrade materials. It makes the progression system feel unnecessarily dependent on luck rather than rewarding gameplay. I hope the developers will consider changing some of these mechanics to make the game more enjoyable and rewarding for players.
