Experienced on the Oculus Quest 2
You can view my review & gameplay here: https://youtu.be/vtcDDnaB-Rw This game is now free to play so I can easily recommend it. Game is basically a wave shooter / melee action game with some very basic COD zombies type gameplay. It's got nice visuals. It also has lots of different weapons to unlock from bows, to swords, to wands, to rifles, to crossbows, and several unique weapons with special abilities. The maps look good and there's different areas of the map to unlock as you collect souls from fallen enemies. Unfortunately, combat is not very good. You can wriggle your wrists for melee weapons to take down the enemy horde. The hit-boxes are puzzling. Outside of the special abilities, weapons just aren't fun to use. Gun reloads are basically slide your hand across the top and the weapon auto reloads after your magazine is spent. The rifle was tilted to one side on my Oculus Quest 2 Touch controllers. On top of that, enemy AI was pretty dumb, as enemies just seem to walk straight towards you. There is also a lack of enemy variety. There's only 2 maps, plus a werewolf area. Game is running on the Unity Engine. On my RTX 3080, I was getting variable frame rates from 90 to 45 fps on Ultra graphical settings. However, I did not experience any serious issues or bugs and the frame rate issue did not effect my gameplay. Overall, since it's free I can still recommend this. However, if they still charged $10 USD, then it would have been a negative review. It's rather mediocre as a wave shooter, with the COD zombie element being it's only saving grace. It is kind of cool to try out the new weapons and unlock new areas of the map, plus it looks nice, but everything else is lacking. Fun game. Spoopy enemies. Hard bosses. Lots of weps ranging from daggers to bows to even guns (I personally love the bows). The maps are nice and dark but easy to maneuver. If you like wave survival style games (think Killing Floor/COD zombies) then i would give this a go.

its OK. too hard melee move
Highly recommend if you're a fan of wave based games. This game totally gave me a nostalgia trip back to my call of duty zombie days. Weapons are undoubtedly the coolest part though. My favorite combo being the bow for ranged, and the boss weapon drop for melee.
Love this game; a great wave based game with alot of weapons and scary/horror aesthetic/ atmosphere real good stuff for my taste. spooky scary skellies and creepy beasts and bosses!
I can't recommend this game in it's current state. Combat is very mundane and it's just "rapidly swing your melee weapons in the general direction of the enemy" kind of combat. The bow and dual crossbows I got to use in my short time playing were feeling better in comparison and seems like ranged is where this game really shines. However, this, with the combination of teleport only locomotion just isn't enough and I felt very limited in my movement. The levels are also very dark and you can barely see whats in front of you. You are not even given a light source of any kind. The game makes it unclear how certain mechanics work, like how the wave based arena fights progress, where enemies spawn and it doesn't tell you that you have to have enough "currency" to progress further and get new weapons. None of this is told you in the short tutorial in the beginning. Speaking of the tutorial, when you first start the game you are just tossed right into that, no menu, nothing. In order for this to become a decent game it needs these changes: - A menu - Locomotion options (Teleport and Smooth should be a minimum these days) - Clearer mechanics (How does health even work? Also, It took me a while to understand enemies spawn out of the green runes on the walls) - More light (it's very hard to see) - Remove the very annoying row boats for level transitions (or instead of actually having to use the paddles, just use them as a sort of teleport to a level) - Make the game work while not in focus, couldn't record my footage for my video using OBS. Other than that it has some potential. But in it's current state I would have refunded it if I didn't get it for free.
A refreshing take on wave based games. Graphics are amazing, and there's really cool diverse weapons in the mix as well. Overall a good time.
Hollow Remnant is a free to play VR wave survival game with melee and range weapons. It worked on my HTC Vive system, looked ok, played ok. Has a Tutorial island for you to try everything before you can play the game. Has English videos explaining all the help subjects. Then you have a Dungeon or a Town map to fight through. You can upgrade your weapons. You have to grind kills to move further through the game. You have a large selection of weapons to find and try. CONS: Does not work with Index controllers. Try this game, you might like it.
