This is a godawful Unreal Marketplace flipped first person action "adventure" where you run around and shoot stuff. The developer describes this, I am not joking, as "Single player First person Puzzle Base Casual Story base game". WTF does that gibberish even mean? But I'm quoting that because it gives you a pretty good idea of what to expect in this godawful Unreal asset flip... no quality whatsover. Just run around, find the monster asset and shoot it. God, why.
So, "Hollow Mission" is a basic asset flip, kitbashed out of a bunch of someone else's game assets all thrown in a blender. This is creatively bankrupt stuff, effectively plagiarism, and it's bad for everyone.
There is no price tag, but you get what you pay for. When developers can't do their job properly and instead plagiarise the work of others, usually they also lack the technical skills to handle coding, optimization, or game design, or any of the other things real, competent game developers do. "Hollow Mission" is proof of that. Asset flips never result in a high quality experience for gamers.
This feels more like a tech demo or a project smacked together hurriedly to try make a kind of minimum viable product just good enough to pass the developers unambitious idea and shove it into Steam Direct to see if you can actually pay $100 and publish junk through Steam Direct. Yeah, you can. Is this good for gamers? Nope.
Now on to pricing and value for gamers.
This is "free" enough (not every "free" game in the "free" section is truly free, there's usually some hidden price tag), at least you won't be expected to spend any more money after you download this, but just because something is free doesn't mean it's good, and the cost of a game is more than just financial, your time is valuable too.
Despite having no up-front cost, this failed to appeal to the 130 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB shows this peaked at [b]only 2 concurrent players[/b]... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away.
This "free" game won't count toward your game collection count on your profile. With that in mind, is it something you should still download?
Give this one a miss. Although it's free, your time and storage are valuable resources, and the market is filled with superior options.
