Hobby Horse

Hobby Horse is a turn-based and physics-driven arcade racing simulation that is surprisingly fun for a simple concept. The core gameplay loop is straightforward where you just race and see how fast you can go. The game does a good job of slowly introducing new mechanics as you progress, starting with basic jumping and drifting before moving onto power ups and grinding rails. There is a lot of whimsical comedy baked into the experience, though whether it lands depends entirely on if you like zoomer and internet meme humor. On top of that, it features an actually decent track creation tool that might keep the game alive for a bit if a niche audience takes off with it. But here is where the bad stuff comes in. The biggest con is that the gameplay does not really evolve past the basic formula of going fast and moving onto the next map. The overall progression loop feels a bit flat after a while. When it comes to the unlockables, besides the actual stick parts that alter your horse stats, most of the rewards do not do anything for the experience. Even the cosmetics feel a bit wasted because half of them are completely useless during actual gameplay. You can barely see your custom character avatar or the front of your horse during the races anyway. My final verdict is that the game was just about what I expected. It is fun for one to two game sessions, and I can definitely see some dedicated players trying to speedrun this game to optimize their times. You should probably buy this on a sale rather than paying full price. It is a neat, quirky physics simulator, but it runs out of steam once you have seen the core track layouts. Ну можно сказать точно что прикольно. Играется приятно, есть возможность долгого развития и в скинах и в прокачке и тому подобному. Ещё есть мультиплеер. Так что рекомендую если хотите поиграть в что-то смешное и приятное

A fun, chaotic and hilarious ride! Theres still so much for me to unlock once my riding skills improve. The tracks a just the right length that is you fail to beat the passing time its not off putting to ride again, test out a new build or try to earn an upgrade and come back. The Gnome Town area did have what felt like a bit of a difficulty spike where you really needed to master drifting and maintaining speed to get through. I've yet to dabble with the custom track mode but the potential is massive. What I would love to see is some form of multiplayer, either a splitscreen, time trial with some friends, or an online competition.

Amazing game fr props to the developers and if we get multiplayer to race with friends that would be awesome! W game once again.

Hobby Horse is a casual racing game where you create your own hobby horse and rider, then compete through obstacle courses built around running, jumping, boosts, and improving your skills. Between races you can customize your horse, character, and room while working toward new trophies and unlocks. Pros ✔️ Live your horse girl fantasy without the cleanup! - You get the horse, the competitions, and the trophies without ever having to clean a stable. ✔️ Customize your horse and rider!!! - There are options for your horse's colours, shape, and accessories along with outfits for your rider, so you can actually make the pair feel like yours. ✔️ Surprisingly good racing gameplay - Underneath the silly concept is a pretty solid racer with drifting, jumping, boosts, and courses that actually take some skill to get good at. Cons ❌ It caused some motion sickness - Quite a few viewers who do not normally struggle with motion sickness mentioned feeling it while watching, which feels worth warning people about. ❌ It really needs co-op - Racing hobby horses already feels like something I should be able to do with friends, so being limited to single-player feels like a missed opportunity. ❌ Customization unlocks could be faster - Customizing is a big part of the fun, so having some of those options take longer to unlock than I would like slows down one of the parts I wanted to play with most. Conclusion It's a neat game and I'm glad I gave it a shot. It is the right amount of silly wrapped around a surprisingly solid racing game, and once I stopped laughing at what I was playing I was actually trying to get better at the drifting and jumps. Score 8/10 Hobby Horse Hurdles - Apparently a stick horse was all I needed to start caring about lap times.
