Man I sure love hearing the story of Onigafuchi Village and Oyashiro-sama for the 6th time in a row. I esepcially like how it's the same story every time, thank you Ryukishi07, much appreciated.

So many people tout this as one of the better chapters in Higurashi & I absolutely can see it! Ch. 6 sets a precedent in answering questions from Ch. 1's events, while also being the "Rena chapter" that we've all been clamouring for. Especially since it's always felt like she's been the poster girl for the Higurashi series, it legitimately feels validating to finally get an insight into Rena's struggles, personal history & internal personality. That, alongside the utilisation of dual narrative perspectives, through constantly switching between Rena & Keichi's PoVs, really helps this chapter stand out in exemplifying their character arcs while tying the two's stories into an incredibly tight & satisfying final act that had me on the edge of my seat. There's quite a lot more to say regarding this chapter that would undoubtedly unravel into spoiler territory. This chapter made me lighten my opinion of Keichi's character as a central protagonist. It's also got arguably the most satisfying ending to boot from the Higurashi chapters thus far, but thankfully, the Tips segments definitely allow you to realise there's more than meets the eye upon its completion! If I ever had to exemplify a singular chapter to represent why I adore Higurashi so much, then I'd probably have to hand it to Ch. 6. It's everything that feels like what the Questions Arc was building towards & more. It's another example of why I love these characters so much, & I couldn't wait to delve into the next chapter after I finishing Ch. 6.
