A small seaside town in Scotland. A mysterious murder. A desperate man seeking justice. With every page, the plot gets denser and denser and soon it seems that the madmen may be the most sane ones. If you like horror/mystery novels, you can find this one entertaining. An atmospheric game inspired by H.P. Lovecraft's works.
Great game. Both story and the investigation/deduction mechanic are very enjoyable. Will definetly play a couple more times at a later date to see the other endings. It's a shame there's no save feauture 'cause it will make playing the game again to get other achivos/endings a bit of a chore. However I know that's not the fault of the developers, merely a standart for this kind of games. Oh well. Still very much worth checking out.

Great but this game needs a save feature so badly!
I would pay someone by the hour to write me another game like this. Such a shame that true cosmic horror works are hard to come by.
one of the best IFs and a very fun Lovecraftian story good mix of detective, horror and actions.
The negative reviews are too harsh on this game.
If you want a mystery to solve, this is a pretty fun one. But DO keep in mind that this entry is all about the mystery/solving things, which I think threw some people off. A lot of effort was put into this title, specifically in ways you may not notice upon your first playthrough. A negative reviewer said the archetypes "don't matter" but that's just ... wrong. The archetypes notice different clues and know unique bits of background information compared to other archetypes. Some even get new/different choices at multiple points. But this is something you literally can't know until your second playthrough. Even how you walk around inside of a building tends to matter and changes some outcomes! Ultimately, the game -will- push you forward in some way. There are some points where I felt forced to continue, even if I wanted to leave an area. I understand why that was done, but I would have preferred for the game to let me fail to find important evidence because I was being a chicken. The characters are neat, have different methods of approach, and generally unique in personality, but they exist to further the story and as such aren't incredibly deep (even if they are endearing and can return later in the plot). None of the supporting cast feel truly flat or boring, though some of the antagonists(?) are less compelling than their goals. This game does an incredible job at making you feel paranoid. Sometimes you will be suspicious of something, act on it, and feel foolish while at the same time feeling totally justified about looking over your shoulder. I thought that was pretty fun. Ultimately, this is a solid, detailed mystery with good payoff and lots of different narrative branches/side secrets. It is not an extremely comprehensive roleplaying experience, but it was never meant to be. There is basically no romance. If you want a tense experience with high stakes, this is your game, and boy did I enjoy the ride.
