Más corto que el primer juego pero una gran evolución en el género. - El mapeado y diseño de los niveles es más limpio, más compacto y juega más con los interiores y los diferentes pisos y alturas. - Nueva mecánica de ciclos día y noche, climas o estaciones en donde el mapeado cambia, los objetos se mueven de posición y algunos solo pueden ser encontrados en determinados ciclos. - Más variedad de animaciones, música, efectos de sonido y algunos objetos tienen patrones de movimiento más largos y complejos. - Cuando inicias un nivel se te da una presentación panorámica del mapa y una introducción de la temática con doblaje al inglés y subtitulada al español. - La fórmula de dificultad cambia: Ahora la cantidad de objetos es menor y más separados los unos con los otros, esto combinado con la mecánica de los ciclos, interiores con varios pisos y "hitboxes" más ajustadas hacen que aumente la dificultad, está clara la intención de eliminar el viejo "meta" de hacer muchos clics hasta dar con algo. En cuanto al modo online probé con 15 niveles aleatorios y noté que hay muchos niveles trolls o que fueron diseñados para sacar rápido los logros, pero que con algo de suerte podrás encontrar niveles divertidos y de muy alta calidad.

Hidden Through Time 2: Myths & Magic delivers exactly the kind of charming hide and seek gameplay that fans of the first game will enjoy. The experience is spread across four distinct eras that each feature their own self contained stories to keep the progression feeling fresh. One of the coolest additions is the inclusion of a secret object hidden within every single era. Tracking all of these down is a rewarding challenge because it eventually unlocks a special secret level for you to play. If you are someone who likes padding your gamerscore, you will be happy to know that earning 100% of the achievements is a very straightforward process. The audio design also deserves a shout out because the music is composed well enough that it never feels like a repetitive or grating loop while you search. There is a bit of a snag when it comes to how those secret objects are displayed in the menus, though. When you haven't found an object yet, it appears as a blacked out silhouette, but the game fills in that icon across the entire era as soon as you find it just once. This design choice is pretty confusing because it can lead you to believe that you only need to find the object one time in total. Many players might end up skipping the search in subsequent levels and accidentally lock themselves out of that final secret stage. It definitely would have been much clearer if the icon stayed blacked out for every specific level where the object was still missing. Even with that UI quirk, this is a very solid entry in the genre with great variety in its settings. It is a relaxing and approachable title that offers a nice bit of extra depth for those willing to hunt down every last secret.
