This game is really rough around the edges, especially for its asking price. You pick one of four characters that look ripped straight from a D&D campaign and play through eight environments spread over multiple acts. But each act feels and looks exactly the same as the last with little going on. The characters are pretty forgetable, asides from Fenenc. And the dialogue I just find myself skipping over. Voice acting would have really spruced it up. Speaking of the only voice acting comes from the narrator and I find that grows old really fast as he introduces each stage with it been unskippable. To add to the low effort the 3D environment feels frustrating and vague, making hitting enemies hard at times and just about zero feedback when you are been hit. Honestly I had hopes for this game, and they can't use the excuse of "Just nine people made this game." There have been a lot of small teams, heck Cassette Beasts had just two and they made a gem! If they want this game to be worth the nearly £20 price tag they need to update this game soon and in a big way to make it worth it. At least add some feedback so you know you are being hit and make the introduction to levels skippable.
Simple fantasy beat' em up targeted at younger demographic. The game has Dungeons & Dragons-based Saturday morning cartoon feel both in design and humor. It's designed in very safe way and doesn't reinvent the wheel. "Basic" is a word how I'd describe it. Most likely a good starting point for anyone who has interest in the genre as a first-timer, but seasoned beat 'em up-fans probably won't find the game as inviting due to its simplicity. Also, this review is written from the single player experience and a few stages with one friend, so I don't have the full experience how the 4-player mode feels like. Keep that in mind when reading further. As writing of this review there are four playable characters, the rest coming in later update. Each one has distinct enough moveset and role when playing together with friends. I started off my journey with Grog, the big, yellow half-orc who looked like a grappler-type character, but grapple did he not, which left me slightly disappointed that a beat 'em up doesn't have grab attacks. The rest of the characters were alright, but my boy Grog felt the most active and useful in single player. Eleadora, the green elf girl left me mystified. Her rapid fire bow attack did equal amount of damage than her slower close-range kicks. Sure, the kicks could be used to smash the enemies against the wall, but I found it safer just to run around them and keep shooting the arrows. Odd decision. And speaking of odd things, and heading towards the nitpick section, the narration during the story segments always cut off too early. I also didn't see much use for not being able to move during the narration in the beginning of each stage. The writing was a hit & miss. The character dynamics between the four heroes works, and there's even character development, amazing! The humor might be a tad too self-aware but it still left me chuckling at times, though probably not in the way it was intended. But good times were had nevertheless. If you lament over the fact that Vanillaware's "Dragon's Crown" hasn't been released to PC, perhaps this can scratch your itch just slighly.
Amazing coop game. Story well made, combat is fun, amazing artstyle. A really well made game, you can buy it without worries.
I'm not into beat em up games. I don't know what it is but i've tried many; and I just cannot get into them. But this one? This one has caught me by surprise. I find myself coming back and playing it. There's something fun and different about it. Ill be revisiting it over the next few weeks to try and figure out what it is that makes me want to dive back in; but overall, its a really fun game!
Pretty fun game I did the full Adventure solo with Ozlov, I liked using combos like Energy Slice and Backstab. The mix of 2D art in a 3D world looks good, the quality of the models and animations is great. This plays and feels like an indie game but at the same time multiple aspects have an AA or AAA quality to it, you can tell it was created by veterans of the game industry.

I really wanted to give positive review but I cant. All positives are from people who did not play more than 5 hours. It is because game is bad. Hit boxes are very bad. You will not hit enemy when he is 1px lower or higher than you. I play archer and I can not hit enemy who is at from of me. When I am lucky and finally start hitting him... it is not a combo - he strikes back. So using bow as an archer is just pointless. I did not enjoy the fights and it is Beat'em up game. Big no no because of failed fight mechanic. By the way - waited 10 minutes for someone who will join me and it did not happen. Game is already dead.
When I played the demo a few months back, I was left with mixed feelings. The game looked gorgeous, but felt a bit sluggish. To my delight, getting the key for the full release today completely changed my mind. This is honestly one of the best beat ’em up games I’ve played since arcade halls went out of fashion. The game actually has a story, delivered with solid voice acting and a good sense of humor. The visuals are beautiful and detailed, and the variety of moves and playable characters really makes the gameplay shine. On top of that, the 4-player co-op mode is an absolute blast — nothing like teaming up to punch and kick your way through hordes of enemies while trying to deliver dragon eggs to… well, I won’t spoil the story. Of course, I do have one small criticism. Just one. The price feels a bit on the high side for a game of this type. Maybe it sounds cynical coming from someone who got a free key, but hey — that’s never stopped me from being honest. Video: https://youtu.be/Zmya2VSjBzY
The game is extremely clunky, there's no keyboard control customization - and the default ones are horrid. Game lists 120 fps but plays like its on 30 FPS, there's absolutely nothing redeeming about it. Even the story breaks the 4th wall 15 minutes in in sad attempts of cheap humor. At one point an enemy stepped slightly to the right edge of the map such that my melee attacks would not hit it at all. Even the move list the game asks you to read shows wrong inputs on keyboard.
Great game! It reminds me of the old beat'em-ups, I used to play when I was younger. The art is beautiful and makes the game very unique. The gameplay is simple, which makes it easy to get a hold of the fighting mechanics. I'm really excited to see future updates of the game.
