About

HB&P is a classic old-school RPG inspired by the design and aesthetics of the 80s and 90s. Your decisions will determine how each adventure ends. Every story includes random and dynamic elements, meaning no two playthroughs will ever be exactly the same.
Although HB&P embraces a nostalgic 80s/90s style, we’ve spared you from reading endless blocks of text by keeping the storytelling fast-paced and engaging.
Here’s where it begins: you, the player, create a character from one of eight available classes and enter a medieval fantasy world. The classes are Warrior, Wizard, Rogue, Bard, Necromancer, Priest, Hunter, and Assassin.
This world is made up of stories, each completely replayable thanks to the influence of player decisions, character stats, skills, and items. On top of that, every story includes procedural elements that generate new options, locations, encounters, characters, traps, battles, and random loot—even when you replay the same adventure with the same character! Some stories may also change their plot each time you revisit them, and making different choices will lead to new endings.
Unlimited Free Play: Complete adventures in any order and replay them as many times as you like. Choose from six difficulty levels and customize each adventure. Even if your character dies, they keep all earned equipment and loot, and you can start a new adventure—or replay the same one.
Campaign Mode: Survive through five randomly generated stories played in sequence, with increasing difficulty. If your character dies during the campaign, the adventure ends!
As you play, your character earns experience points and levels up, growing more powerful with each adventure. There’s no level cap—you can strengthen your stats as much as you want.
8 character classes, each with unique playstyles and equipment.
12 fully replayable stories.
Over 300 game pages that can change every time you play.

More than 350 illustrated adventure scenes.

Simple but engaging. I was pleasantly surprised with the level of depth for such a small game. I hope this dev makes more in the future.
Juego super recomendado!
A nice reminder of the old 'Choose your own adventure' or 'Fighting Fantasy' gamebooks that I grew up with. The adventures are nice and quick, and the mechanics are simple to understand. I just have two minor issues. First, I would love more ways to heal my character during an adventure. Second, I feel the inventory is too limited. Most of the gamebooks would have a weapon and armor counted as equipment instead of taking up an inventory slot, same with special quest items. And they'd have smaller sections for food and money, instead of having them take up inventory space. Definitely a good amount of replay value here though, trying to see all the different permutations and events in the adventures. And seeing how much easier it'll be coming back to the first ones with a high level character.
This is a cool concept for a game. It's a series of miniature gamebook-like adventures that you can play in any order. I like that each story is replayable with multiple endings and randomized sections that are different each time. It's also cool that items you collect in one story might offer a surprising benefit in a different story. Managing your limited inventory is very important. The writing of the stories is very simple. There is not much descriptive language, and the grammar is weird. But they read quickly and keep the focus on the danger and adventure. Each story builds out the sword-and-sorcery world more and more.
A very good game If you are looking for a fun and old school experience. Highly recommended.
