About
Hellish Quart is a local-only (two players play on one PC, not online), physics-based sword fighting game. Set in 17th century Poland, it features a cinematic story and the most iconic sword fighter archetypes of this period.
With motion-captured fencing techniques and four gamepad buttons representing four attack angles, you'll need to use timing, technique, and speed to defeat your opponents. Choose from a variety of warriors and take part in cinematic story mode, arcade mode, safe sparring, quick fights, survival mode with online leaderboards, or local multiplayer. If you want to hone your sword fighting skills, you can spar with wooden weapons or train in modern HEMA gear. And for the ultimate experience, Hellish Quart also offers an optional VR mode.
Please note that the game is still in development and only supports local multiplayer (two players play on one PC, not online).
physical sword fighting using Active Ragdolls

realistic historical fencing techniques
optional VR mode
Hellish Quart utilizes active ragdolls and real-time physics to get you the ultimate fencing experience. You can attack from four different angles using the four gamepad buttons. Different button combinations enable special attacks and combos. When you are not attacking, your character automatically assumes a defensive stance, blocking your opponent's attacks using the autoguard feature. Proper timing, technique, speed, measure, and wits are all crucial to winning, just like in real-world fencing.
The game is set in the historical 17th-century Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, and the character models are based on 3D-scanned, reconstructed clothes from that period. The single-player campaign, once completed, will be firmly rooted in the reality of life in the region. You will duel against Zaporozhian Cossacks, Polish Hussars, Tatars, Turkish Janissaries, Swedish Reiters, French Musketeers, and more.

I really enjoy this game. It's super fun and the characters are nice. They should include way more like a Samurai or a Roman Soldier. Well done to the devs and pls keep updating it and include more stuff.
One of my favourite fighting games ever. Unique as hell there is no game like this in the fightning game genre. Hope to see more content and a full game release date soon.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,420 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

This medieval "Tekken" is running well and have lovely look. Running it on stable 60 fps (did not check if I can increase max FPS). - fighting system is complex - various weapons and fencing styles - historical accuracy (clothing, fencing) - controller input is good What is not finished (yet) - story, basically chapter 1 only, but it's hella good - maybe multiplayer? (you can play locally) - skins perhaps (you can mod it, lol) Overall for that buck especially it's cheap price for a really good project imo. Primarily you fancy some fencing. ;)
HEMA simulator ! Great !
Pretty decent HEMA game for when HalfSword just aint cutting it. ♥♥♥♥ the arcade boss though, COMPLETELY random how many times you need to hit the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ before you actually get a flag, when he can just ♥♥♥♥♥♥ choose whenever you lose at will. Just frustrating as it is, but if the devs actually balance the game better so that it doesn't feel random on giving you a point or not, I'll recommend.
So glad I didn't listen to the bad negative reviews. Yes the camera is jank, yes some of the collisions feel weird. What little there is of the story is peak and the combat feels very weighty yet slick most times. The game is still in early access. If you're looking for a new physics-based swordfighting game, were into Bushido Blade, enjoyed Half-sword or are into HEMA in general, you'll likely enjoy Hellish Quart. Plus, in the options, you can disable the combat people whine about. Personally I don't mind it. Both systems have flaws but the newer one feels more weighted and realistic.
Tight gameplay, just wish they would add more Longsword fighters. Everything is completely outnumbered by curved swords

The new type of 1 vs 1 fighting games we were waiting for. Tekken, DOA, street fighter = the old style. This was OK till 2005. This is the new style
