Hellfire 1988: An Oregon Story

Fun game with some awesome and finely-tuned period and place-specific dialogue choices and an outrageous plot from an awesome solo developer. If you're looking for a late 80's small-town drama with a great rock soundtrack for an evening or afternoon, look no further. I'd say visual novel to point-and-click ratio is about 80/20. Story-rich with some replayability. My first playthrough was quite short because bad life choices, lol, the second one was significantly longer and the story really took off. All proceeds from this game go to the Bend Fire ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Program, which is even more reason to support this game and indie developer.

I thought the dialogue tree was pretty fun. The story was fairy engaging once the story got going. It's not Elden Ring but it's not trying to be. For $1 it was a satisfying 3 hours spent. I hope Mama Games continues to develop their talent and make more games for the world to enjoy.

This game rocks!

I really enjoyed Hellfire 1988. I found so much of it relatable and I enjoyed the writing too. It's not every day I find a game that the main character is poor, from the PNW area, and a metal head in the 80's. The character is a bit older than me but not much so a lot of Jennifer's experiences were very relatable to some of my own when growing up as a poor girl who's living in the PNW. Mama Makes Games really did their homework. Thank you for making this game!

I'm glad I lived past a time in which one's mother CRUSHED their kid's dream to make videogames, toward a time in which someone's mother -IS- living the dream to make vidoegames. That alone makes this game and all from this studio, absolute proof of a fantastic turning point in history.

I really enjoyed playing this game and appreciate the level of depth and back story that was given to the characters and the story line in general. It is clear that the developer did background research for Bend, OR, for 1988, to the clothes the characters worn to the syntax and diction the characters used. Would recommend to anyone!

Played this on stream and people loved the story! This is also my first novel game, not much to complain about! And yes the music is fire!

I really appreciate that there is an option to play as a visual novel only. Great story line and engaging characters. I also really like that the proceeds are going to a charity. Overall, I had a good time for my .99! :)
