PS: succédant à Book of Demons (hack'n'slash) et HELLCARD (deck-builder), se profile Book of Aliens.
-= 12/20 =-
"HELLCARD: Prologue" is not a game. It's an advertisement for a product called "Hellcard". Hellcard is a truly overrated (and overpriced) mobile app tier CCG/deckbuilder with co-op features that was somewhat unsurprisingly rejected by Apple/Google for their smartphone app stores. But this isn't completely relevant because this is not Hellcard, it's just an advertisment for it, so it's not correct to try to review that completely distinct product. We must instead review this for what it is... an advertisement. If you enjoy advertisements, you can consume them for free on the web or on Youtube without needing to add them to your game library, download them, and then launch the advertising. It's impossible in a general sense to recommend people should do that over playing real, full games on Steam, and that applies here with "HELLCARD: Prologue" too. Since when do advertisements on Steam need paid reviews from the Russian fake review farm uncovered by Sentinels of the Store? The purpose of this advertisement is to get you to fork out a COMPLETELY INSANCE TWENTY FIVE US DOLLARS for the full low poly "I can't believe it's not a mobile app" game.. and I really don't recommend you do. I guess they have to get back the money they spent on fake reviews somehow. This is only free in the same way that adverts on Youtube and banner ads in your browser are. This is a game demo that's been dumped on Steam to advertise another Steam store page in the hopes of raking in some cash. Just because advertisements are free, doesn't mean they're worth your time. It's important to understand there's a formal process to create a demo/page for a game which hasn't been followed here: https://partner.steamgames.com/doc/store/application/demos While it might seem like an inocuous mistake, publishing demos and advertisements as if they are full games is misleading and in some ways harmful. This advertisement is taking up marketing space and visibility that would be better made available to a developer that's done the right thing and created a full game. Instead, that visibility is given over to a demo/advert that's been published incorrectly and is polluting the marketplace. It's unclear if this mistake was made through incompetence or a deliberate intent to mislead gamers. Often developers may choose to incorrectly publish demo/advertisements as separate games as a cheap way to bypass paying Valve for marketing presence on the Steam front page, which may seem clever to them, but it's harmful behaviour and it's not good for gamers.
Warning: Review Manipulation! This game features a number of fake positive reviews from accounts known to be in the business of review manipulation/paid reviews. They're all written in either Russian or broken English, appear at almost exactly the same time, very shortly after the game launched on Steam, all have a direct Steam purchase of the game, and the accounts are used consistently to write fake reviews for asset flips and other cash grabs/scams. The "Positive" review score on this game should be disregarded due to this blatant, unethical review manipulation. This is done to deceive and scam gamers into paying for a bad product. Due to the 2024 FTC ruling (16 CFR Part 465), these fake reviews are a violation of US Federal Law.
Advertisements and incorrectly published demos don't add +1 to your game collector count, they aren't full games. It's impossible for me to recommend this incorrectly published advertising spam to gamers, you deserve better than adverts.

ENG Demo for a good card roguelike in a fantasy style, inspired by the first Diablo. The usual Warrior, Mage and Rogue fight off crowds of monsters in turn-based battles. In this case, the emphasis is on the sequence of attacks of heroes and monsters. Controlling several characters in turn, you need to destroy opponents with minimal loss of health, gaining new skills and class variations. The main version has the option of co-op. I was definitely pleased with the demo.
The prologue is fun to play with a friend. I’m looking forward to getting the full game.
baulders gate 3 if it was fun
Made me buy the gmae and its fun!
Leaving a review for the Prologue (yes, I realize this is the trial). I am posting why I won't be buying the full game: The game looks and feels very unfinished--and I don't just mean the Prologue part. You can see the systems that will become available, all the cards that will be unlockable, etc. The games really does look like it was a game mode that was meant to be the original Book of Demons. In fact, it looks TOO MUCH like Book of Demons and not enough like its own game. Sure, it's turn based strategy, and I like the pie wedges and rings, but tbf, this isn't brand new. The locations throughout a map are unintuitively written. Tier options don't match between players, and it's not clear why. I also see very, very little depth to any story or potential story (which is fine, does anyone remember the plot of Slay the Spire? I don't think so). But the gameplay just isn't engaging. Worse: it's outright confusing. TLDR: Game looks like a rushed, spinoff of Book of Demons that should have been paid DLC or part of the original game. I don't see enough content for a full game (sure, there are more than 400 cards, but almost no relics or other things to collect, for example).
