The dev posted a thread about this a few years ago and I picked it up. The movement is fast and fun, and the guns are very satisfying. I had a performance hiccup once in the outdoor level but it got fixed, and thanks to the limited visuals it runs at full blast with 100+ enemies on screen with no issues. Good art direction keeps the game looking nice despite those visuals and there's good variety in how the levels look and play. Chasing gold medals is extremely fun and the game is very straightforward with the criteria for a gold rank, a big plus. If you like Doom, Quake, or UT this game is a great deal for a few afternoon's worth of fun, I'm looking forward to what this developer does next.
Hellbreaker is a solid love letter to the Doom franchise. The mechanics work well, the guns are fun to shoot, and moving around is fun. The enemies aren't exactly Doom 2016's imps, but that can be circumvented with good placement, or just throwing tons of them at you ala Serious Sam. I can't speak for level design, as there aren't many, but there is Steam Workshop support, and a level editor that works 300 times better than the one for Doom 2016. The only missing piece is a community to support it. If you've got an itch to design maps, and love old school single player FPS games, you should dive into Hellbreaker right away.

Old school type shooter. Reminds me of the type of games that I use to play back in the early 90's. Only thing I didn't like about it was the timer but you can shut that off in the options. Otherwise I enjoyed it.
