About
Fyodor’s people are dying. Following an old legend, he sets out for a cursed island from which no expedition has returned. Its interior is inhabited by monsters, uneasy survivors, and people with their own reasons for remaining there.
Explore eerie locations, meet potential companions, and face card-driven, turn-based battles.
Every character you recruit contributes unique cards and passive effects to your deck. Build a party that suits your approach, adapt to dangerous encounters, and survive the horrors waiting beyond the shore.
Heavy Wake is a focused 30-60 minute dark-fantasy experience set within a larger world. Across its compact, hand-authored structure, you will face 7 handcrafted combat encounters, meet recruitable companions, and uncover fragments of a larger unresolved world.
Heavy Wake began as the opening of a larger project. As development continued, we learned enough that making that full version properly would have meant starting again from the ground up.
Rather than leave this chapter unfinished, we chose to complete and release it as a short experience. We hope you enjoy this first journey to the island, its strange inhabitants, and the world behind them.

Loved the artstyle and the background lore. The story is compelling and leaves you to think about the bigger picture of the setting.
Big fan of the beekeeper guy. This was a very fun game with very compelling fights!!
Really enjoyed the game. The style is cool, what stood out to me the most was the overall sound design and the UI - they both feel really polished and fit the game well. Combat is fun and there's a good variety of cards, so it stays interesting. I also liked the bonfire conversations and the overall atmosphere. The Story plot twist was a nice surprise. A few small things that would have been great are a run button, autosaves after boss fights, and having the game end only when the whole party is defeated instead of just one hero. Though most of these feel like quality-of-life features that would probably have made it into the game if it had a larger scope Overall a lovely, lovely Indie game, I had a great time with it and can definitely recommend!

Love the art and the environment, the combat is fun and engaging - all in all a fun experience!
Surprisingly tense combat and well balanced fights I didnt expect. This game feels like a true passion project and I would love to see what else these devs can cook up. Absolutely worth the price knowing students made this. Congrats to the team!
Fun card game with cool designs, i like the dark and mysterious theme
Well, this is not a game, it is a demo with around 1h of content. It is ok. As a demo and such a short experience, it should have been free in my opinion...
I played this at the Esports event, so I wanted to tell all 7 of you good luck with the next thing, whatever it will be. Keep up the good work, stay motivated at the craft and enjoy this motivational positive review!
Truly a bizzare adventure x). I enjoyed it so far and will come back for more. I like the combat and the character interactions with small decisions to make. I miss a voiceover for the characters tho. I look forward to the next game.
thumbs up emoji game for basically no money! was a really nice experience for being such a short game
