nearly flawless masterpiece of a game my only regret is that i didn't get it at the full price
rough around the edges but absolutely loved it. worth every penny and can feel the love put into the game.
The game is solid and is definitely an upgrade from the demo, but I think my main problem is the bosses. They just arent fun to fight like at all simple. Not even the humanoid looking bosses are good imo they just stand there as you hit them while they throw out the same few moves with a crazy amount of health. No brain activity whatsoever.
It's a really good slasher. Not much else to say. Art, character designs and their gameplay are good. As another reviewer said, it's story and humor have that 2000's edge (the good sort). Plenty of unlockables.
Very good game, has a lot of slick combo options. I'll probably write a longer review when I finish it.
P.S. Любимчик, милашка :3
Furry May Cry
A decent action game in the vein of devil may cry with some minor elements from sonic. I liked most of it but there were some sore points. It was interesting to balance around keyboard and mouse controls as most other hack and slash games use a controller as their basis. I used the keyboard and mouse since the game encouraged it so I can't speak as to how a gamepad would feel, but the default keybinds worked well aside from just getting used to using the right mouse click to attack. Also the key to switch lock on targets is a key I have never used on any keyboard ever. The game also tries to implement traversal and platforming kinda of like sonic. This was a major flaw for me because while it was never confusing, I just found it never flowed that well. The platforming is very basic and when you run it uses up meter which can be recharged from picking up items but is still annoying to run out of. The levels also often just feel too big like they had to have a reason to use the run button. The worst offender by far are the random pits you can't escape from. It was super annoying to try to explore down a ledge and end up getting stuck which forced me to reload a checkpoint. I wish the developer could just add an unstuck button maybe so I wouldn't be forced to lose progress. The combat I actually ended up really liking. Combat against normal enemies can be quite braindead at times with just pressing random attacks end up killing everybody and giving me a high rank but up against bosses it can get pretty interesting. Now the first time I faced some of these bosses, I thought they were some of the worst designed bosses I'd ever seen. But as I learned their patterns and how my weapons could interact with them, they ended up being really fun and interesting. There is one boss near the end of the game who has a move where if you aren't in the right place and the right time you just get instantly killed and I do hate him(Apparently the Dev nerfed it after I beat it). The weapons in this game are all great and every one got some use.
I picked this game up on a whim just browsing steam, and boy is it good to know I can still track down diamonds digging through the store. I went in expecting an edgy little fun time, and suddenly I think I've found a lost copy of 2nd best Devil May Cry game (but with a more interesting story). This is way better than I could have expected given the small team that put this together. The story is interesting with some solid enough characters and it felt good to play through a campaign like this again since it's been a bit, but really I just need to compliment the amazing action and feel of the game. The levels are paced just about perfectly (on hard at least) and the actual moment to moment action is fantastic. Way more level and enemy variety than I would have guessed and I can't believe the weapon variety they surprised me with as the game went on. That's not even getting into the unlockables, fully fleshed out characters ready to go and completely unique. The dev seems motivated and active too, both adding content and balancing out things. I personally didn't run into any big sore spots, so their balancing is clearly going well. I look forward to seeing more of their work if this is the kind of thing they can put out working mostly alone.
This game is an actual blast. didn't had much expectations but i ended up enjoying a lot of the fights and the story. So yeah, I think the money spent on this was totally worth it, a great game for only a 1 man game.
