Christmas. Christmas never changes. Soon those overzealous little freaks will swarm the city led by that bearded maniac. But this time, we fight back. Inspired by Zombies Ate My Neighbors and Beavis&Butthead's heavy metal comedy, this is twin-stick mayhem like you've never experienced before.

Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0/day in the week to Sep 3 → 0/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Headbangers in Holiday Hell is a poorly made 2D retro pixel top down twin stick shooter with a somewhat contrived "headbangers" vs Christmas theme, where you control rockers who fight elves and stuff... I think it was supposed to be edgy? It's hard to tell, the implementation here is really not good. Gameplay is... you guessed it... really mediocre console/arcade style top down shooting. What fun, surely such a unique concept has never been conceived before, apart from all the times it was (and all better than this). From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. A choice was made to use obsolete, decades old retro pixel "art" as a substitute for contemporary PC graphics. It's unclear if this is due to lack of budget or talent, regardless, the overall visual quality of the game is extremely low as a result. There's no options to change the resolution for the game or customise the graphics settings. There's no way for gamers to ensure this is running at the native resolution of their displays... there's no guarantee this game will look right on any PC as a result of this hamfisted design decision. There's no way for gamers to try improve the low quality graphics. The controls can't be customised, which will be an annoyance for many, but it can also render the game unplayable for differently-abled gamers. In a sheer insult to PC gamers, the developer has locked out keyboard and mouse controls on this game. The developer demands, without compromise, that you must use a console peasant children's toy gamepad to play this garbage game. This is simply unacceptable, developers must never dictate to gamers how a game is to be consumed. Alarmingly, gamers are not warned about this on the Steam store page. Perhaps an attempt to mislead PC gamers into buying a defective product? The game features no proper level design or game/story flow/plot, as they opted to try to use samey repetitive procgen algorithms as a substitute for adding such content to the game, to avoid doing the important job of level/map design. As a result, the game doesn't actually have any content worth mentioning, just endless, boring, repetitive, soulless algorithmically generated sameyness. Developers must learn that procedural generation is not an acceptable substitute for content. While this is on PC, it has all the hallmarks and deficiencies of a console game, from the clunkier than needed control scheme to the less than cutting edge graphics. There's 10's of thousands of PC games on Steam, and PC gamers deserve only the best. This might not appeal to many gamers due to the lack of PC-centric design. It's unclear why this game was never accepted on the video game console appliances it seems to have been designed for (but I can guess... Microsoft and Sony have QA departments). Some of the defects in the game can be attributed to the choice of using the GameMaker Studio construction kit/toolset. This is a very poor quality toolset favoured by amateur developers as it's cheap and requires little in the way of development skill, but unfortunately has very limited capabilities. Just as you can't make a silk purse out of a sows ear, you can't make a great video game if you use a terrible engine. GameMaker Studio is often used to make retro pixel shovelware and cash grabs. These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game. The poor quality of this game is reflected in the general public reception. At the time of this review, SteamDB shows the all-time peak player number was only 5 players. That's right, only 5. This is a pitiful enough number, and now, the only player activity occurs once or twice a month, presumably someone loading it up to see what it is then quickly uninstalling it. Considering there's over 120 million gamers on Steam, the overwhelming lack of interest in the game is remarkable, but also to be expected. This complete and utter rejection of the game from gamers should be a keen information point for anyone considering buying shovelware like this. Gamers just didn't take this seriously, and for good reason. Headbangers in Holiday Hell has the insane price of around $7 USD, it's not worth it given the defects and shortcomings with the product, especially considering the sheer number of completely free, much higher quality games on Steam.

🤘 It's weird. Appreciate the effort, but it's too simple for the genre. Even considering the low price, ONLY get it with the max. discount (then you MAY not be disappointed, otherwise, DON'T recommend it). The difficulty is arcade-like, and the progression is kind of unbalanced, but overall it plays well (considering the modest content). The pixel art is nice, but all the menus are just text. There are few maps, the environment is always the same. If replays aren't your thing, then after the ~fifth run it becomes less interesting. The increase in power from lvling isn't particularly noticeable (most likely, you'll upgrade everything faster than complete it). There are a couple of weapons, traps, and rage skills. Only three bosses, and they are also simple. After the middle, the game becomes downright hellish, so all you can do is dodge and run (if you stop, you die). There are bugs, both with objects generation and AI behavior / collisions. If the main boss hadn't run into the wall, doubt I would've beaten it, lol.
This game is a below average rogue lite. It is cheap but it is also frustrating. Not just due to it's obnoxious difficulty level but also because of glitches and crashes. You will get hit through walls which are meant to be impenetrable quite often. The game may not recognize you beat a certain area and force you to restart. The worst glitch of all had to be when I finally got to the final boss and the game crashed. Seriously? I get good at this game and finally get to beat it and remove it from my memory entirely and it crashes. Boo. Shame on them for this one.
If you enjoy rogue-like games this one is for you. Visually, the game is pleasing to look at. A fun game that you can easily sink hours into. Its easy to start up, play a few rounds, then disengage. Its nice to have games where you can turn off your mind and play without needed to think too much about the mechanics - run, shoot, Collect coins , Upgrade weapons and move to the next round. Definitely worth the price.
Enjoyed finishing this super fun game listening to Metal, killing Evil Elves, explosive Grinch's and of course Santa Claus along with this in my face = "METAL!!!" ⠄⠄⣿⣿⣿⣿⠘⡿⢛⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣧⢻⣿⣿⠃⠸⣿⣿⣿⠄⠄⠄⠄⠄ ⠄⠄⣿⣿⣿⣿⢀⠼⣛⣛⣭⢭⣟⣛⣛⣛⠿⠿⢆⡠⢿⣿⣿⠄⠄⠄⠄⠄ ⠄⠄⠸⣿⣿⢣⢶⣟⣿⣖⣿⣷⣻⣮⡿⣽⣿⣻⣖⣶⣤⣭⡉⠄⠄⠄⠄⠄ ⠄⠄⠄⢹⠣⣛⣣⣭⣭⣭⣁⡛⠻⢽⣿⣿⣿⣿⢻⣿⣿⣿⣽⡧⡄⠄⠄⠄ ⠄⠄⠄⠄⣼⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣶⣌⡛⢿⣽⢘⣿⣷⣿⡻⠏⣛⣀⠄⠄ ⠄⠄⠄⣼⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣦⠙⡅⣿⠚⣡⣴⣿⣿⣿⡆⠄ ⠄⠄⣰⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣷⠄⣱⣾⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⠄ ⠄⢀⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⢸⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⠄ ⠄⣸⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⡿⠣⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⠄ ⠄⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⠿⠛⠑⣿⣮⣝⣛⠿⠿⣿⣿⣿⣿⠄ ⢠⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣶⠄⠄⠄⠄⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⡟⠄ Update: A short time after I perfected the game by getting all achievements, I realized Steam never registered it as a perfect game in my overall stats... Devs, what's up with that?! That's very disappointing to be honest! >:[ I feel I wasted my time getting all achievements... Update 3/20/23 - Devs responded: Thank you for getting back to me Sgt.H. Oh I see, that's understandable, it sucks but now I know lol. Thank you for clarifying that for me! I guess we'll have to wait and see what happens, hopefully Headbangers in Holiday Hell will become a lot more popular in time for the achievements to count for stats. Again, great game, I very much had fun completing it! Looking forward to your future games! :D
It's challenging and addictive good for letting off some steam and pretty fun around Christmas
