Total retro giera, bardzo mi przypadła do gustu, nie ukrywam jest trudna i wymagająca ale to jej urok.
Pretty good game, gameplay is smooth and controls are responsive. It's a shame my xbox controller does not work with the game, would be really cool to play with it instead of the keyboard
When I first tried this game two years ago, I quickly dismissed it. Initially, I thought it might be a mini-Metroidvania, but it turned out to be a retro 2D run & gun action platformer. Aside from that, my initial impression was not great, as the game felt a bit off, overly challenging, and I lacked the motivation to push me through its demanding gameplay. However, update 1.0.1 brought a series of improvements that made the game much more enjoyable and ultimately easier. We got enhanced powers, adjusted bosses and enemies, fixed level design issues, and most importantly, life is restored at the beginning of each level, making the game more playable and less frustrating. The game still feels a bit dull, but the pixel art has charm and conveys the advertised 8-bit vibe (but there is nothing hardcore about it anymore—which might be a downer for purists). What's really missing is a cohesive story to tie it all together; while there is a background story and even some short pixelated cutscenes, it's difficult to follow and does not connect the dots. The levels are disjointed stages, without a connecting story or gameplay mechanic (like ability-gating). We need to find 1-4 keys on each stage to be able to finish it. This is easy at first but becomes more challenging in the last two worlds, changing the game now to a run & gun puzzle platformer (with light intralevel backtracking) with surprisingly large levels. On another positive note, each level allows you to collect (more or less well-hidden) coins and gems. This encourages fully exploring the nicely designed levels. There are some rage-inducing placed coins that can only be gathered with perfect rocket-jumps, but I found all reachable. Unfortunately, collecting is strictly optional and isn't even tied to an achievement, and therefore does not contribute much to the game's replay value. I guess we get 7.5 hours (give or take 2.5 hours) of gameplay. So, we can get a lot of game for a (very) small price. In sum, Haxor has made significant improvements and has become a more enjoyable experience overall that is worth a second look for fans of retro 2D action platformers (especially on sale). 2.5/5 Two very annoying things I forgot to mention are - the bad controller support (who plays a game like that without one?). I got this fixed by mapping the keyboard controls in Steam to my Xbox controller, but this may not work with every controller. - the current version shows a totally unnecessary launcher which advertises other games that is not skippable (there is a checkbox to skip it next time but that's not working!?). My original review stands but that's down-vote worthy.
At first it feels pretty simple, you start off 2 abilities. One you can turn invisible, and the other being invincible. You start off with those 2 and its limited to use (but rechargable. Your weapons are kinda weak, regular shots are awfully weak while rocket launcher you have good power and can use it rapidly. Rocket launcher is limited to use and rechargable as well. This is more of a puzzle platformer where you have to collect objects in order to progress through the level. There are fair amount of levels with boss fights. Movement controls are kinda touchy but adaptable. The story in this game is strange. Would recommend if you have nothing better to do honestly.
amazing deal on sale, fun metroid vibes mixed with modern action platformer level design. similar to games like taimumari, armor tale, and shiro. gonna blow through this for my channel
I bought this game with a real sense of hype around the art-style and seemingly fast pace to it. First stage in I noticed every aspect of movement felt off for me. You move too fast horizontally whilst having a seriously janky jump (which feels oddly fast and jittery), enemies hit hard - yes hard, maybe that's the sense of (hardcore - old games) but simple as it didn't feel like that for me, it felt inconsiderate and outdated whilst also being to the detriment of the player intentionally (or unintentionally) for the sake of stating it "harks" back to older titles. The lack of direction and information in this game is it's downfall.
It good
ist ganz schön kommisch zu verstehen aber macht spass
