Haunted Stories

I received this game for free from the developers to try out and play live. Unfortunately I cannot recommend this game in its current state (Alpha 0.5.7.0 version). This game will need SEVERAL revisions, upgrades and more testing before it is enjoyable to play. It was not scary at all and was quite humorous and janky to say the least. It had three stories available at time of review to play through: Fateful Heist, Western Ghost Town & From Hunter to Hunted. I managed to complete Western Ghost Town all the way through, but failed to complete the other two due to checkpoint issues throwing me back to the very beginning of the game upon death. The English translation is very poor and needs to be revisited. The character is voiced by what seems to be a robotic Google AI translation system and often makes pronunciation and inflection mistakes when reading some of the dialogue through some of the episodes. The controls are terrible, yet you can remap them. I found out the HARD WAY that some of the buttons you need to complete the puzzles (like the lock puzzle in Fateful Heist) wasn't even mapped to the keyboard! I had to do it manually myself. The head bobbing/body swaying of the character when they move is very annoying and rather nauseating. Also the checkpoint system is broken, so if you die (which is easy to do) you typically have to start over from the beginning of the story which can be a LONG way back. PROS: * Decent graphics * Decent monster design, though they are not threatening and do not provide any sense of horror or suspense. CONS: * Limited to no instructions on what you have to do * Objectives window doesn't notify you when an objective is complete and a new one is created so you're constantly hitting the TAB button to check what you're supposed to do. * LMB doesn't open doors, you headbutt through them if they are unlocked * Controls are not intuitive and seem all over the place. Too many buttons which make things confusing * Controller support (though stated in game) does not work. Tried XBOX1, PS4, and 8BitDO-Pro2 controllers. None worked or were recognized by the game. Resorted to mouse and keyboard. * Inventory window is mapped to ALT bad choice and not explained at all in any of the stories * Controls are keyboard had to be mapped as some were not mapped and required to complete puzzles * SFX design is terrible and does not create an spooky or tense atmosphere * Your character does not auto turn towards spooks, events, or cut scenes so you miss more of the jump scares or spooky parts of the game wondering where the sound is coming from. * There is no autosave (or if it is, it's SEVERELY flawed) making you go back VERY far into the game and/or even back to the very beginning of the story. * Cannot see inventory menu for items you pick up (beyond usable items located with the ALT button) * Translation is flawed with several spelling, grammatical and sentence structure errors making it difficult to read (ENGLISH) * If the AI talks it sounds like it is going through a Google Voice translation and using the robotic male voice it provides. This takes away from the atmosphere and makes the game quite comical * Rag-doll physics and clipping through walls and objects I am hopeful they will make signification improvements on this game. As is (20 FEB 2022) I cannot recommend this game, but I hope it will be worked upon. Ich finde die Atmosphäre ist echt gut. Hier und da sind kleine Fehlerchen, die mich persönlich aber nicht groß stören. Ich bin ein echter Schisser und hab echt panik gehabt beim Spielen. :D Werde auf jeden fall weiter spielen.

Richtig geiles Spiel. Noch nie so Schiss gehabt beim Zocken. Drückende Stimmung, super Sprachausgabe, spannende Rätsel. Bestes Horrorgame EU West ! Sehr empfehlenswert. Freu mich schon auf die anderen Geschichten !!! PS: Das Spiel ist nichts für Angsthasen. Wirklich sehr sehr gruselig

At this early stage and in the state that it's in (Badly in need of an editor, overly complicated puzzles, sounds like a voice synthesizer instead of an actor) I don't recommend paying for this. Ich habe das Spiel nun schon ein paar Stunden gespielt und muss gestehen, dass es von Map zu Map immer spannender, aufregender und gruseliger wird. Die liebe zu Details die hier zu finden ist, ist hervorragend. Es lohnt sich wirklich Zeit zu nehmen um sich die Maps richtig anzusehen. Leider habe ich es noch nicht komplett zu Ende spielen können aber ich freu mich schon drauf es durch zu spielen und bin gespannt wie es weiter geht. Hier und da gibt es noch ein paar Fehler aber für eine Early-Access verzeihbar. Ich würde mir wünschen das man sehen könnte was man zu tuen hat.

Never thought a game would scare me this much, there are 3 Storys out yet, more to come. Every story made me having goose bumps all over my body. Curious too see all the reaction vids on youtube, I bet 1000000$ no one can staz calm in this game. The first release had some issues, but its nice to see that the devs are rapidly fixing and improving the the game.

Ich habe bereits die erste beiden Geschichten gespielt und bin echt zufrieden. Das Spiel wird auch immer weiter verbessert, top so weiter machen. Horror Atmosphäre ist auf jeden Fall gut gelungen. Es Spielt sich alles flüssig und die Grafik ist auch gut. Ich bin gespannt auf die nächsten Geschichten. :)

Хоть это и ранний доступ, но разработчик пишет в описании, что ждет обратной связи. В общем на данном этапе это не совсем играбельная вещь. Главное проблема - скрипты, которые срабатывают не в нужное время и место. Немного о геймплее, доступна первая глава (остальные две, видимо, после прохождения первой). В ней мы играем за вора, который решил ограбить супермаркет ночью, но все пошло не по плану из-за приведений. Мы с вами бродим по супермаркету, встречаем монстров, которых можно убить из пистолета (стрельба тут лишняя). По поводу первой главы. Управление очень корявое и неудобное. Очень нужен список задач, потому что не всегда понятно, что вообще делать. Скрипты срабатывают плохо, например, пропажу телефона замечает персонаж уже после того, как я несколько раз зашел в офис. Озвучка роботом плохая идея, большиснтво фраз я вообще не понимаю, нужны субтитры. Скорее всего не работают авто сейвы, потому что после смерти я начал заново (в настройках были включены). Если и выпускать в раннем доступе, то главное, чтобы хотя бы первая глава была отполирована до идеала. В общем на данный момент я игру не рекомендую, только если вы хотите поддержать разработчика. Надеюсь он поправит все баги и игра хотя бы будет рабочей. Желаю ему успехов.

Well what can I say. I have fun :D It's not perfect for sure but I still got 4 Hours so far and I'm not done at all. Finished the first story which is kinda small but nice to find out how to finish. Also that "Thing" that haunts you looks creepy as hell from up close. Got the chance to see it closely and damn is it sexy. The best Story so far is the third one. Bigger Map with a nice fear mechanic. The creatures that haunts you are so aggressiv I hate them. Trying to finish this story is sure a lot of fun and gives a good horror feeling.
