The most realistic avenue many of us Earthen-borne have for space travel: Crippling debt and menial, dangerous blue collar labor. Hardspace Shipbreaker is one of those games that you can lose a lot of time to if you aren't careful, my current logged time was across three sessions, and soon to be more. Stunning graphics and atmospherics take you away from the bleakness that is this corporatized future world, and satisfying gameplay immerse you into the position of a Cutter, or ship scrapper. A really rewarding milestone system backs this satisfying gameplay, and upgradeable, customizable tools allow you to work your way from scout vessels with just some extra bandages lying around, all the way up to large cargo ships and science vessels with quasar thrusters that have a whole, pretty involved process to scrap successfully. If you are looking for a tear jerking story, or a chronicle worth of story content, this doesn't have it. You could probably knock this game out in just a little less hours than I spent already in it if you didn't care about completion or side story content, because there is an entire sub story you gain access to part the way in to the second or third act, but it is entirely optional, worded like you are stealing from Lynx Corporation. Very much one of the "Chore Simulators" That got in ahead of the curve, and made sure to develop it's world around the chore well, so you become immersed with it very easily. An easy 9/10 for me, definitely get this game if it even slightly interests you.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 22 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,513 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

it is a amazing game with its story down to the addictive nature of tearing down ships for parts. the music in the game is great too, the sound design on the airlocks opening and closing, to the voices of the characters talking over the radio. if you love a good story with some cool ship dismantling i highly recommend this game.
I would be enjoying this game more if i didn't have a time limit on scrapping ships, and the story would just shut up. I am here to scrap ships in space, not side line a drama series.
Game of the year every year. Seems like a game about breaking up ships in space. Is actually a game about solidarity that scratches an itch no other game does.

it's a great game if you like problem solving and space games
Nie eueren Laser gefixt.....was für eine scheiße.....
This game is amazing!
An easy game good for relaxing, despite its various attempts to make you feel pressured with the shift clock or your debt, these are mostly irrelevant. Only the reactors and quasar thrusters require you to get a move on. Hitting the salvage goals for Merit Points and Lynx Tokens is much more valuable than any amount of credits you can leave in the yard. My only real gripe is the story, and my biggest gripe with it is that it makes me sit there thinking, "Can I play yet?" while I wait for these morons to talk at me. I'm not terribly fussed that it's also a socialist propaganda story - it's better written than most such stories, and perhaps it's because of his apparent brain defects that I have a small attachment to Kaito. I just wanna protect the stupid goober, okay? xD The general stupidity of the cast is otherwise a turn off. That general stupidity also works well to make the villain of the story easy to hate, which is good for a villain, and OMFG Hal is a nincompoop. If malignant imbecile needed a poster child, it's him, for sure. xD
