Imagine every ship like pieceing together a puzzle, you can start and work where ever you want but some things are locked in place by other stuff which itself is locked in place by other stuff. Thats why its a "Puzzle" game. :)
The mechanics of this game are great. Slicing through cut points and chucking parts into the processor or barge feels good and scratches an itch for productivity that is missing from similar games. The upgrade tree is super important and drastically alters your ability to be efficient, from improved tethers to faster jets and longer reaching cutters. Points for upgrades are awarded at a rate that matches in game procession, so you never really feel behind. Story Mode is a bit meh, a standard anti-capitalism message that can't be skipped with an all-powerful executive villain and a local management POS, and I don't like how the path towards finishing is cut off halfway through the campaign. That being said, there is a lot of flexibility in the game. If the 15 minute shift feels like too much there is a Free mode that lets you pick a ship apart at your leisure without concerns for time or even O2 if you turn that option off. I'm not a huge fan of the "cleanup" style games but this one really hit home for me. The music track is top notch Americana and the banter between the NPCs is pretty good at times.
Sorry, but I absolutely hate the way the spacesuit controls. Its extremely janky and does not feel right.
relax
It's amazing how a company can make such a reasonably decent core of a game and still manage to make you sympathize with the villains. You can tell they've never worked outside NA and Western Europe. Great gameplay. Mute the dialogue.
I really need the VR version
I'm just a simple space junker. Don't mind me...
