Hard Work

First of all, Hard Work is one of the rare cases where I rather have neutral feelings about it. Whilst this visual novel has its strong traits, there are a lot of other aspects that, unfortunately, fell flat. Honestly, I had a different impression on this game at first and this game indeed did turn out a little bit different, however, since I knew Hard Work is an eroge, it was obvious that a lot of H scenes are available here and thus, this visual novel targets a specific fanbase, which is clearly noticeable here. Hard Work opens with Gary Stuart who gets introduced as the main character and “The Man”. In fact, he is a sexual counselor that helps his clients to relieve their stress. That sounds a little bit complicated, given that he is married as well, yet, trust is obviously the most important thing in a relationship. One day, he accepts a job at Industricorp with three potential clients whom he has to entertain for a whole week. However, he can only focus on one of them, and thus, he gets assigned to the supposedly best match as every girl has a different personality. The first thing I noticed is that unlike a lot of eroges is that Hard Work does not contain romance in any way. Well, the only thing that could count as romantic is that Gary is married, although this game won’t show lovey-dovey scenes of them together, as this really isn’t the focus here. However, despite being surprised at first, I believe that romance isn’t necessary to enjoy a game and thus, it felt quite refreshing and even unique that whilst cute girls and, therefore, different routes are available, the player doesn’t technically pursue them but just spends a certain time of period with them. So, the story of Hard Work is straightforward and Gary basically just follows the girls around during and outside of their work time. The focus here is, of course, the H and work scenes as every girl has different kinds of problems with their job. Sadly, the story isn’t really in-depth and that’s already everything that is happening in this visual novel. Whilst I definitely enjoy light-hearted games, I still expected the story to pick up at some point, which never really happened. Admittedly, I think the story was somewhat lacking for me because the most important thing in a visual novel got neglected here: The character development. Although the player gets more insight into the characters during a playthrough, I didn’t really feel like I knew them better after finishing a route. The issue here was that one playthrough is very short and thus, there wasn’t enough time for a character to grow a lot especially since the H scenes are taking up a lot of the playing hours. For instance, each day works like a chapter that contains one juicy scene each. Overall, each day isn’t very long either and a whole route can be completed in a couple of hours, so I felt like there was not enough time for an in-depth story nor character development. However, I still liked each girl’s personality and there were all very different from each other so each route had a good variety. With the story and character development being somewhat lacking, Hard Work still does other things just right. The most charming thing with this visual novel would be the comedy. On many occasions, I couldn’t hold back a snicker since the scenes were quite funny. Of course, that comedic aspect also added an overall light-hearted atmosphere to the game so I could still go through it. In fact, I feel like a visual novel like Hard Work is quite relaxing and for special occasions when one just wants to get their mind off and, well, play something else than a romance game. The H scenes were, on a piece of side information, well-executed nonetheless and covered a lot of different fetishes. The common route is very short in Hard Work and only introduces Gary and his special job. Shortly after the introduction, Gary will get confronted with an interview that will determine which girl he will spend the week with. I really liked this feature since it’s so unlike many visual novels with multiple ends I played before. This game doesn’t bother its reader with plenty of complicated choices but just finds the right match with the help of the interview. After getting into a route, this game works as a kinetic novel and doesn’t offer any decisions anymore but has a linear story with only one possible end. Graphic-wise, Hard Work looks great. There is a gallery in-game available where the player can look up the acquired CGs. For each day, there is a CG available which has a lot of small varieties per page. Additionally, this game offers multiple different facial expressions for its sprites which made each girl livelier, and to be honest, blushing girls are just adorable. The lack of voice acting, however, could have helped with the immersion, yet there are other hilarious sounds the game surprises its reader with instead of the usual voice-over. One thing I noticed here is that the CGs sometimes didn’t match with the writing and thus, I was slightly confused when something was shown in the CG that didn’t happen yet according to the text. As aforementioned, I feel rather neutral towards Hard Work. Whilst I noticed that the story and character development aren’t really in-depth, it’s still an eroge at the end of the day. As long as the reader knows what they are going into, they will very likely be able to enjoy it, however, those who are looking for a story-driven game might not be pleased by this visual novel. Regardless, the comedy is hilarious and the whole game shouldn’t be taken seriously as it’s a rather relaxing visual novel with plenty of nice H scenes. That being said, Hard Work is an eroge through and through, and I enjoyed it for what it is although I found some aspects somewhat lacking. Если коротко, то в этой игре всего три рута. Сначала вам задают пару десятков вопросов, и от того, что вы будете выбирать, зависит ваш рут с девушкой. После того как рут был выбран, выбора у вас больше не будет, и можно просто наслаждаться секс-сценами с девушкой. Для тех, кто желает открыть все секс-сцены и получить 100% достижений, в игре есть руководство. Персонажи в игре выглядят очень красиво, и дизайн у них очень привлекательный. Мне очень понравились секс-сцены с кошко-девочкой “Катей”, ибо, как по мне, она самая красивая. Секс-сцен в игре немного, и каждая девушка имеет по 6-7 секс-сцен. Анимации в игре нет, и действия происходят очень медленно. Если в подобных играх мы можем наблюдать движение в секс-сценах по кадрам (слайд-шоу), то в этой игре какие-то движения попросту отсутствуют. Типа нам дают арт 18+, и у девушки иногда меняется выражение лица. А как для такой цены, это довольно халтурно. [H1]보1지 보여줌. 꼭1지 보여줌. 그림은 잘 그렸는데 성우가 없이 비싸다[/H1] 등장하는 여주 3명모두 개성이 매우 강한편입니다. 그나마 정상적인게 보라색머리(clelste)입니다. 자주색 머리는 나중에 일반적인 교1미에 질려 SM플레이로 넘어가버리고 흰머리 고양이는 주인공 한명으로는 만족할 수 없어 mmmmf로 넘어갑니다. 스토리분량은 꽤 긴편이고 선택지는 공통루트인 초반에만 잔뜩 나온 후 개별루트 타면 더이상 안나옵니다. ... 이미 많은 스포를 했으니 더이상의 줄거리는 밝히지 않겠습니다. 우선 가격이 정가 18500원에 55%할인(2020년 여름세일)해서 8320원에 샀는데 돈이 아깝습니다. H씬은 한명당 7개씩 있는데 성우가 없다는거 때문에 아무래도 돈이 아깝다는 느낌을 저버릴 수 가 없었습니다. 그림체는 깔끔하게 잘 그렸고 특히 캐릭터 질감표현이 잘되어 있습니다. [h1]스토리가 마음에 들어서 리뷰상 추천하겠는데 누가 사겠다면.. 돈이 매우 아까우니 말리겠습니다.[/h1]

So this is where I need a neutral button. While it's not a bad game, its not a great game. The game felt bleak, rushed, and just inexperienced. There are a number of things it could learn from other titles. I didnt personally feel like the characters were built up much or that well so I wasnt particularly interested in them. Most of the VN I have played are pretty fun and have engaging characters that I am interested in or atleast curious about. This one just didnt provide that for me. Overall, I cant recommend it simply because I found myself wanting to just keep clicking and get it over with rather than being interested in where the story was going to go.

i wanted to like this game,really,but the characters are so bland and the plot isn't really interesting at all...it's very rushed and the jokes are not really funny either..if you could call them that. i love VNs and i do like sexual content but i'm also interested in plot and character diversity...the lack of actual choices is boring too..and the unnecessary achievements for the smallest things. I just can't recommend this to anyone...i'm sure a lot of people enjoyed this,but i certainly wasn't one of those people.

I would say that its an ok game at best. For its price point, lack of choices and overall boring premise it really isn't worth buying or installing. There are better games out there for your money. It just isn't very engaging and since it doesn't have voice acting at this price it really is not a great value either.
