Creepy horror take on the cooking sim genre, genuinely unsettling atmosphere behind the counter. Recommended.

If you want an extremely confusing, mildly atmospheric, not scary, good fast food sim, and average puzzle boss fight game, than this is for you. (mild spoilers below) I thought this was your average $5-$10 simulator horror game for price of $20 for some reason. So I did some digging to figure out the reason, and there's a bunch of puzzle based boss fights so I went back in to give one a try and it was alright. You had to press things in a color coded order, but the colors on the poster were not the same as the things (yellow looks like green, and gray = white), another poster says feed the boss to kill it but what it doesn't tell you is each burger must contain every topping, 1 topping is hiding in a room behind you, and you need to do that 3 times. On top of that the game also tells you not to go where this boss fight is, the building looks like every other building with un-openable doors but obviously these doors open cuz the boss is inside but you wouldn't know that, and during the fast food sim part, I had to remove a rat from the resultant and it was either in the walls or outside the restaurant so there's some bugs.
It's clear as day a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of effort went into making this game, and it sure paid off. The visuals are great. Although half of them are low-poly, overall they still convey the atmosphere fittingly. The soundtrack is nice, and even though a lot of the gameplay is repetitive, there are some interesting game mechanics here and there. The story is wobbling between a very well-written one and a B-tier plot, which personal preferences might tip it one way or the other. It sometimes feels like it's "random ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, go!" but there are some interesting and thought-worthy concepts. And even though someone might find it dumb, the plot is still very well paced and constructed in an easy-to-follow way. There were some side details and events I still don't know what were about, but they made for an enjoyable gameplay scenario at least. The game definitely offers some secrets, hidden lore and all that stuff if you're interested, without the main plotline being dependent on that knowledge.
Super accurate on how helpful, and goofy co-workers usually are. Overall it's a solid game. A little janky sometimes, but got me interested enough to play all the way through and escape the ----------......... Welcome to HAPPYS HUMBLE BURGER SHOP! Best place and show in the whole world! So good you will never want to leave!......

♥♥♥♥♥♥ game
It might scratch the restaurant management itch for some. But this game pads out its playtime way too much. There's no proper tutorial. You're shown the most basic controls in the beginning (RMB / LMB). And then there's a folder you can read. That's it. Nothing about *how* to use stuff in the restaurant. I had to check a guide to check how to pick up fries. You can "fail" 3 times, and unless you have something special handy, you'll have to redo it all over again. This makes the game even more repetitive than it needs to be - part of this could be avoided by at least letting the player experiment before shift start or after hours, but no. You can't use the kitchen outside you're shift. It feels really weird to limit the player this way. :p There's also just the lack of polish. Chucking trash into the bin sometimes gets stuck, rat traps have to reset at a very specific point. Certain characters will sometimes teleport *onto* the bag you have just prepped so you can't grab it until they move. The story and lore might be vaguely interesting in the beginning, but this fades fast. It's a shame, cos I can also see why some people might like this - the jankiness has it's own charm. If you like juggling patties in a high-stress environment while dealing with ghost saboteurs, give it a try. Just be prepared for some confusion, obtuse storytelling and shaky mechanics.
