Super hang on a minute
I see what they did there. Ironically not really played Hang On or Super Hang on, but I can feel that this is what it would be like if the camera were first person. Currently on offer in this "Early Access Demo" as it is called (yes, the game you pay for) are two Arcade Runs which invoke Outrun vibes, and courses from those Arcade Runs available in Single Races. The Single Races are highly customisable, which is a nice touch, and you can make it as easy or as hard as you like by tweaking some options. Gives a Multi-Class GP feel for sure, where you have a huge field but only race up to 19 opponents in your "class". I think it's decent for the early price tag, good fun. I typically struggle with motorcycle games, and I do here, but it feels much more natural to me. UI needs some work, as is typical of such titles, but the sound, graphics, style and vibe are spot on. Outrun meets Ridge Racer for bikes, I guess. Good stuff, Early Access "Demo" review 7/10
....... \_☠_ ▄▂_ .........[█|||███████]▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▃▂ ..__▂▅█ Mafia do Retrogame █▅▄▃▂ I████████████████████████████] ...◥⊙▲⊙▲⊙▲⊙▲⊙▲⊙▲⊙▲⊙▲⊙▲◤ MAFIA DO RETROGAME - YOUTUBE @mafiadoretrogame https://www.youtube.com/@mafiadoretrogame MAFIA DA GAMEPLAY https://www.youtube.com/@mafiadagameplay
My game of the year! It has the potential to become the official *Hang-On* one day, if SEGA notices and supports it! I feel the need… the need for speed...
Great sense of speed, good presentation, and good gameplay. However, the time limit is so incredibly tight that it simply isn't fun. A single driving error means you have to start all over again. Personally, I don't enjoy that at all. A shame—requesting a refund. Maybe I'll check back in a year or two and hope that work has been done on it by then. Edit: It looks like there was an update to the tight time limit.
OMG. you dont steer the bike. you balance your weight on the bike 10.10 i will die on this hill. that or play redout2. but this is soo good. it is about 2 hr of play to learn to just pilot it, do it. you break through its so good.
This game is effing awesome. Modern day Hang-On but with a better sense of speed. Way to go.
Was about to go to bed and saw a video about indie games with Hangin' Off being the first game shown. Tried the demo and bought the game within 5 minutes. This game is the fantasy of ripping a motorcycle distilled into its purest form. Perfect retro graphics, amazing music and a great sense of speed that makes you feel like your just barely hangin'... on? My only complaint is that theres not much content right now. Devs, if you read this, I WANT MORE!!!!
love it
It captures the vibe of Sega's Super Scaler games very well and it's got a very nice feel as well. The new updates have worked very well in the game's favour and is really bringing the best out of Hangin' Off! Also to note, I did have a few frame drops for half a second a few times as well. I do have a suggestion though, being able to create your own course by mixing and matching various tracks. All in all though, there is so much potential, and will be watching this space with updates eagerly!
I absolutely love this. There is an ok amount of content atm, for the price, I think it's fair. You're also paying for the promise of more content and a full game at the end of it all. Currently, you get a total of "technically" 16 different tracks, 8 different environments (from what I'm aware of atm). This is not too bad but obviously, if you've played a retro racer like this before you'll know it's not the same as 16 tracks of a proper 3d racer. The tracks are very very good though. They look great and the best part is the game plays amazingly. Additionally, the game has actual track racing too. so the same tracks as in arcade but with other bikes that you're competing against instead of just the time. again, for the price, I feel there is enough content here. I am a massive super hang on fan though so I might be biased but I can at least tell you this is being done right and it's pleasing super hang on fans like myself.
