Absolutely addicted to this game. Seriously cool looking, great art style, the motorbike feels amazing and with the controller rumble it really is incredible feeling. I think perhaps the difficulty needs to be adjusted, reaching checkpoints is incredibly difficult for example, I can't finish a race. But seriously, what a cool game, extremely addictive, the levels are excellent. Makes you want like a road rash or an outrun in this style, this in VR would also be incredible. Customizable riders and bikes would be great too. I would love if when you crashed their was a road rash style man running back to his motor cycle. Playing on a legion Go
oui.
The game controls very well and the sense of speed is very satisfying. Despite being rough around the edges, its an arcadey title that doesnt get in the way of logging in and getting your fun out of it. Im enjoying it a lot, music and environment have some highs that really make the game shine for me. I recommend purchasing it.
Super cool concept and love seeing the DEV care about it so much would love to see what comes of this. This genre is overlooked
Absolutely phenomenal game! The controls are just spot on, perfect on a pad using the analogue stick and I can't fault them at all. Blasting through the long sweepers with your head just clear of the trees trying to balance just enough to hold your line and keep the turbo spinning without losing speed or time is fantastically enjoyable, and when you screw up it really is a clenching argh moment and you know it's totally your fault and nothing wrong with the game, which is pretty rare now. I like being on mostly equal terms with the AI riders - they barge you but you can barge back without always coming off worse, a few times I sent them into the scenery and a few times they did the same back, but it was never annoying , occasionally being punted wide onto the pavement behind the trees and trying to survive along that narrow path before being able to rejoin safely, all while at top speed - great stuff. The rollercoaster effect is really good too, I love the overall graphic style, speed and smoothness. The city track is my favourite so far - so much scenery but never confusing and you just get in the zone remembering and reacting almost before the corners appear - its not often I get that zoned in a game but I did in this a few times. Also the forgiving nature of the collision is very good - you can bang against walls etc.. and survive if its not too much of an impact , and zoom off-road through grass and bushes but only get flung off if you hit a tree or similar - it's a nice change from just hitting any scenery and stopping dead or crashing against everything and makes it much more enjoyable when you just barely avoid a massive crash. Stuff I'd really like in the game: 1. I'm not keen on the arcade-style vs the clock so mostly just played the vs-AI lap races , so more tracks for that mode would be much appreciated, perhaps some simple leagues / championships to tie races together. 2. a bit of slipstreaming behind the AI would be nice , maybe with some visual cues , just to let you get a slight edge by riding accurately behind them. 3. can you hit fallen AI bikes? I saw lots but only a couple that were near misses so I'm not sure if you can , but would be nice to perhaps hit them and jump a bit or something. 4. oncoming traffic , Need For Speed style on some modes , perhaps an A to B vs the AI races? It's a fairly clenching game already , a few head-on moments could be great, plus the risk of riding on the wrong side of the road. 5. is VR possible? This seems like the perfect game to really get a thrill from the speed. 6. alpine tracks with cliff drops or lakes to one side? Issues I noticed: 1. the arrow markers went a bit mad sometimes when the AI were behind me 2. nothing else so far :) All in all a really great game and I'm certainly looking forwards to future updates!
This is fun. Reminds me a lot of super hang on on my amiga. Pure nostalgia. I'd love to see mouse steering implemented the way "No second prize" by Psygnosis did: The mous position was directly translated to the bikes leaning angle. You had to manuall reblance but had incredible control over the precise anlge. Left mouse button was accelerate, right mouse button was brake. For manual shift: While holding left mouse button klick right mouse to shift up and vice versa to shift down gears. Other than that while you tap into that retro vibe meybe also throw in a road rash mode where you switch to third person and can kick opponents off their bike with kicks, chains, baseball bats.
I love this game. Stumbled across it while browsing steam for something new to play. I just so happened to come across it on the day before its release, so downloaded the demo and then instantly fell in love with the speed and music. The game is a great spiritual successor to the Hang-On series by SEGA. The music is great and the visuals are fantastic. I am still fiddling with the settings to see what gives me the best gaming experience. I instantly set my riding to "Realistic" and I love it. For £5 I have no complaints. Anyone who wants a pick up and play arcade racer, this is definitely one to get. I wonder if there will be some sort of multiplayer in the future. That'd be sick.
Super Hang-On was one of the first games I owned on my Genesis as a kid, and I loved it. Hangin' Off nails the retro racer feel and even improves on it. I'm excited to see how the game continues to develop and looking forward to a career (original) mode.
Wow, this was a real surprise, a throwback to arcade classics that many of us grew up with. The demo is just a taste of the gameplay at the hardest difficulty, purchase the early release and you will see it has progressed far more with more tracks and modes as well as adjustable difficulty levels. The sensation of speed is great with smooth high framerates, the controls are superbly tight providing growing confidence with each turn. The sound effects from superbikes are good, but becomes excellent with a great turbo whistle sound when activated over 260Kph. This gives a rollercoaser effect on your heart rate of having to slow down for sections then build up to 260Kph and hit that turbo and wanting more. The Music by Benjamin Shielden is suberb, more please. Track 06 Open Road Battle is the best followed by 07 Road Burner Thus far its is a truly great project taking shape niceley, keep up the great work. This is the type of project I like to support, I wish you all the greatest of success.
Amazing speed and feeling. Still lacks a bit of content, but this is expected as an Early Access Game. Even as it is now, it is worth for me.
